Here are a few updates from our fellow classmates for those who were unable to attend the first-year Reunion. It was great to see all of you in attendance. Still trying to figure out what Dirk Van Schependom is doing in Dubai and we have officially sent out a missing person's report for Emily Ahachich.
Marie Wilson survived a corporate reorganization with Eastman Chemical and landed a P&L job managing a business line of ingredients sold to the paint and coatings industry. Her new business title is business unit manager, global resin intermediates. She is thrilled to be on the business end with products and customers after several years off the front lines doing project work and investor relations. She is looking forward to a "grown up" getaway in Puerto Rico in June and then plans to wrap up the year with the family at Disney World.
Brian Wort took a new role as director of corporate strategy and business development at Harley Davidson. He is working on growth products, which is quite the turn from operations where it was all about efficiency and cost-control.
Manar Alazma welcomed Nour Leyla on November 7, 2008. He has quickly realized that his vernacular has shifted from IRR, NPV and GDP to diaper rash and DADA.
Elizabeth McGee has gone from the world of motherhood back to the corporate world. She is managing the worldwide enterprise server marketing with HP. She would love to hear how to get government stimulus money earmarked for server upgrades!
Brian Lees has moved into supply management with John Deere as manager of strategic sourcing – electronics, agriculture and turf division.
The good doctor Nasimul Ahsan took his consulting skills from the Mayo Clinic and presented to a Kellogg Science Boot Camp. I am confident that his presentation of stem cells and the future of transplant surgery captivated his audience. He also joined the Reunion evening with his daughter as his date. She is a freshman at Northwestern.
Jeffrey Hoss went from the world of VIP marketing into the arena of sales. After five years of working behind the red ropes, he is the corporate vice president of sales for Harrah's Entertainment. He is responsible for creating a sales culture, building sales capabilities and overseeing sales teams at over 50 casinos nationwide. Now more than ever, he can really help you with rooms in the Las Vegas market. Please don't be shy to give him a call for a single room or even a corporate meeting. In March, Peter Hammond, John Greene, Baiju Shah, Alex Samano and Chris Hopkins came to Vegas to celebrate the March birthdays of Peter and Chris as well as the 40th birthday of Jeff. Even in his absence, Adam Wilson showed his love and affection for wine and had a couple of bottles delivered at dinner. Even though he wasn't there, the group toasted in his honor.
We have entered the new age of Facebook and Twitter. You can now follow us at twitter/kelloggemp70 and prevent my phone from burning up at Reunion to find out where everyone is at. As always, please send updates to my Gmail account. |
