Bret Waters, Drew Marston, Steve Padgette, all EMP-66, and friends and family atop Storm Peak at Steamboat Springs, Colo., in February

EMP-66

A small band of local EMP-66ers got together for lunch around Kaye Cingle's buzz through the Chicago area as she's currently in commute mode between Milwaukee and Miami. Kaye expects to be seeing more of us in the near future as she will be making more roots in Milwaukee. In attendance were Michael Engers, Shawn Greenwald, Trint Smith, Russell Moss, Susanne Dawursk and Drew Marston.

  Tom Clark EMP-66

Colleen Hayes EMP-66 in the Philippines

Roopak Manchanda EMP-66 with son Rahul

Tom Clark took a well-deserved break from his new role as president of Clark's Market and was seen flying his plane over Utah on his way to yet another adventure. Once on the ground in Dutch John, Utah, Tom cast his fly-fishing rod for the very first time and he loved it. Our Kellogg spies overheard Tom bragging, "I only hit myself in the back of the head twice, and the guide once today." Way to go, Tom!

In addition to owning Flowerbooking, Susanne Dawursk has taken on the role of director of market outreach and the young adult segment lead worldwide at Harley-Davidson.

Colleen Hayes served one month in the Philippines as part of IBM's Corporate Service Corps, a corporate version of the Peace Corps. Small teams of eight to 10 IBM employees work on problems in developing countries with non-governmental organizations and small business. Colleen worked with two small companies on marketing strategies and execution plans. While she was in the Philippines, she was able to spend time with classmate Carmina Herbosa, who visited Manila from Shanghai.

In March, Roopak Manchanda and his wife, Anna Maria, and son Rahul spent three weeks in India visiting family. The fun trip was a special time for the Manchanda family, as they celebrated Roopak's 38th birthday and his brother's 40th birthday. Roopak was born one day before his brother (two years later though). Great planning on his parents' part. It was quite a memorable event as the last time the two brothers celebrated their birthdays together was about 20 years ago! To add to all the excitement, Roopak's son (Rahul) turned 3 in India (seems nine months before March is a fertile time in the Manchanda family).

The Manchandas also toured the southern part of India and spent a couple of days on a houseboat trip in Kerala. Since no trip is complete without catching up with classmates, Roopak also visited Srinivas Gaddam and his family in Hyderabad. He had the chance to spend an entire day with Srinivas's team at Appshark India Pvt. Ltd., a business that seems to be growing by the day. This excursion was very fulfilling for Roopak, Anna Maria and Rahul, and they are busy planning their next trip to some other corner of the world.

Drew Marston is expanding into the shoes of a Kellogg MBA in taking another position within Caterpillar's valve product management group as Six Sigma Black Belt. The November change in position has already required expertise in cash-flow-based decision making, source-of-supply rationalization and managing activities to bottom-line value in the business. Thank you, Kellogg.
