Derek Faust and his wife Marcie had their second child, Jonathan Matthew Faust, on Feb. 4. He was 7 pounds, 13 ounces and 18.5 inches.

Doug Hammond and his wife Alexis welcomed Liliana Kathryn to their family March 3. Life hasn't been the same since, and they wouldn't have it any other way. Lily's arrival capped off a year of changes for the family. In May 2008, Doug left Motorola to become the director of implementation services at Benefit Express. In October of that year, Doug and Alexis left city life behind and moved to Arlington Heights, Ill.

Bob Dahl took a new position as vice president at Surgical Directions. The consulting firm, based in Chicago, operates within the healthcare space with perioperative and anesthesia services.

Douglas B. Koch was promoted to senior vice president at GE Antares Capital, General Electric's middle-market sponsor finance business. Doug resides in Chicago with his wife Mia and their son Henry, who was born Aug. 28.

Chuck Haling joined the executive council of the Cara Program (thecaraprogram.org). The mission of the Cara Program is to assist the homeless and individuals with challenged backgrounds to achieve real and lasting success by providing comprehensive training, permanent job placement and critical support services.
