EMP-61
Hello to all my fellow EMP-61ers,
We had a mini-reunion this past May with several of your classmates. Paul Lazarre and Olivier Visa both have a set of twins who are keeping them busy. Reza Ghorieshi is still at IBM and traveling a lot. He lives in Atlanta and enjoys bonding with his 2 year old. Beth Hayden is still enjoying her job at Jones Lang LaSalle as head of human resources and has slowed down some of her world travel.

Kris Intriss is working at flipping her next company soon. She is stationed in Tennessee but still owns her house in Wilmette. She is moving back so her son can start high school at New Trier in the fall. Seems he wasn't getting enough homework to do down south! Don Ryan is enjoying his role as senior vice president of global publishing at Oberon Media's Manhattan headquarters. Matt Bianchi is traveling a lot these days and spends time in the Netherlands — where Vanessa Borchers is now living.
Vanessa writes that 2008 was a big year for Roy and her. They adopted their second baby, Olivia, at birth from Indiana. They moved to the Netherlands for work and live in Rotterdam. She says it's much more difficult to move around the world with children (in their previous global adventures, it was just the two of them). Gabriella (3) and Olivia (1) are their greatest blessings. She also writes that work is busy but that is a gift during an economic crisis that also hit Europe very hard. She is still at Deloitte as partner responsible for human resources for the Dutch practice. She adds that they enjoy Europe but miss Chicago and the U.S. and their Kellogg friends, and they still own their place in Chicago. Finally, she insists that classmates visit if they are in Europe or the Netherlands (Doris has)! Contact Vanessa at: Vanessa.borchers@gmail.com, vaborchers@deloitte.nl or +31 61234 3029.
That's all for this round. The group talked about having more of these events, maybe even adding some golf and an extra evening activity. I have some ideas to follow up on and I'll keep you posted.
It was great to see everyone and I look forward to our next get-together! |
