The Executives' Club of Chicago named Craig S. Donohue, CEO of CME Group and the Club's second vice chairman, as the recipient of its 2009 International Executive of the Year Award for his outstanding contributions to the global business community. During his tenure at CME, Donohue played a leading role in completing more than $20 billion in mergers and acquisitions, including CME's historic acquisitions of the Chicago Board of Trade and the New York Mercantile Exchange. Donohue also was instrumental in designing and achieving CME's demutualization in November 2000 and its initial public offering in December 2002, which made CME the first publicly traded financial exchange in the United States. |
