EMP-29
Greetings EMP-29! I hope this edition of Kellogg World finds you and your families in good health and good spirits. In spite of my late e-mail request, five of our classmates were able to provide us with news of what's going on in their lives. Fortunately it all sounds good!

Jeff Miller shares this news: "I have started a new business, Impact 3D Models, LLC, which as the name implies, manufactures custom full-color, high-definition solid models. The business focuses on three vertical markets: AEC – architecture, engineers, and contractors; rapid prototyping; and other—which in essence is the customization and personalization of keepsake items (be it your favorite boat, airplane, car, etc.) We are utilizing state-of-the-art technology which is absolutely fascinating for any technos, where we actually 'print' the models in full color. I would enjoy showing anyone with interest the process, so call. I have still maintained my investment in DGY Motorsports, so let's talk when you want to buy that fun toy."
Vijay Rangineni is working as CEO for Satyam BPO Ltd at Hyderabad, India, and says kids Nirmala and Anish are enjoying India.
Chuck Weinles took a new position in Chicago leading a sales group in the Midwest Region for Océ's Production Printing Division. Océ is a $4 billion Dutch company that manufactures, sells and services digital color and black-and-white printing equipment. They are a leading international provider of digital document management technology and services, located in more than 100 countries.
Lori Yokoyama writes: "I founded a small law firm in 2000. We have about four attorneys and some support staff. We specialize in civil/commercial litigation and transactional (contracts, corporations with an emphasis on physicians, physician groups and small to middle-size corporations). I also was chosen by the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce to receive its Business Leadership Award. The award is cosponsored by Wells Fargo Bank and the ceremony was held in New York on May 21. The award was given for my firm's vision, success and community contributions. In addition, I am a co-managing partner for a construction and building supply and materials and design company. The name of the company is Sukai, L.L.P. and is licensed in the state of Illinois and registered with the federal government to be one of its vendors. Our purpose is to provide, preferably, "green" construction and building products including lumber, paint and steel to general contractors, subs, government and municipalities. We are also available to perform interior/exterior design, including landscaping."
Jim Corboy reports: "I'm back in the broadcast and new media world as vice president of marketing for CBS 2 Chicago and will host any alum — from EMP-29 or ANY other Kellogg class from any program and any era — for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just coffee or tea and a tour of the new CBS Broadcast Center, if they simply come with two solid and fresh ideas on how we can grow ratings, reach or revenue in this changing economy and evolving new media world. I am convinced there are a lot of brilliant ideas out there in Kellogg World. So, come on down and say hi and share some big ideas and Kellogg fellowship."
Thank you Jeff, Vijay, Chuck, Jim and Lori for sharing your news! Marren & Associates, the boutique consulting firm I launched last fall to enable law firms to improve their profitability by streamlining their processes, is doing well. Many thanks to those of you who've referred business and contacts my way. |
