2001 — Full-Time

What a difference eight years makes! I met with some junior team members at Rosetta last winter to discuss applying to Kellogg. And when they asked about my experiences there, I fondly recounted the great classes, interesting professors, KOA trips, nights at the Deuce. Then they asked when I graduated. When I answered 2001, they joked that "all those high-rises weren't around then, were they?" And it reminded me how much more than Evanston has changed in the eight years since we graduated. Marriages, babies, promotions, world travels. We've accomplished quite a bit! So here's to another successful two years before we can reunite as a class for our 10-year Reunion! Now onto the news…

Elly Andriopoulou and her husband George welcomed daughter Christiana Vassilara on Dec. 1. She weighed in at 8.5 pounds and 21.5 inches. Elly writes: "We are very happy to have her in our lives and find ourselves arguing about who will run to her crib first when she wakes up full of smiles in the morning. On the professional front, I am working for the retail banking business of Citibank in Greece, responsible for customer segment management and customer advocacy. George is leading operations and distribution for Goody's, the largest fast-food chain in Greece. As the summer is approaching, if any of you decide to visit Greece, please get in touch with us. We'd love to catch up and share travel tips for Athens and the islands."

Michael Campagna married Patty Lyman on Oct. 25 in New Orleans. Several Kellogg alums helped celebrate, including Mark Buschmann, Chris Graham, Patrick Franke and Randy Burt.

Luca Cravero Candioli launched the most important product of his family business (Florentero, a nutritional supplement for pets) in North America in January. He is working in close partnership with two distributors to gain market share in the U.S. and Canada. Luca writes: "It is exciting to be back again in the U.S. business world, although it is a tough and competitive market (this is why it is exciting to be back!). If you are interested in learning more about my family business just check candioli.com or florentero.com."

Teaque Lenahan is enjoying being an associate partner at gravitytank, the innovation consultancy in Chicago. He enjoys the marriage of design and strategy, and heads up the firm's business development and marketing. He was excited to be speaking on innovation and sustainability at Sustainable Brands in June and was joined there by Mandy Levenberg. He feels fortunate that Richard Lindberg continues to grow in these difficult times and is hoping that President Obama taps his hometown consultancies for some innovation help. Wife Amy and daughter Tierney (2) are doing well and are enjoying summer in Chicago with fellow moms' group members, the Jacobsons and McCarthys.

Jason Moss writes: "On May 17, Debbie (Rebell) and I were pleased to announce that our second child, Sienna Adele Moss, turned 10 months old. Normally, such an event is not newsworthy, but Sienna's time-constrained parents couldn't get their act together during the first nine months to announce her arrival. This omission, coupled with the fact that her older brother Asher take great joy in 'bopping' her on the head, just goes to prove how tough second children have it."

Craig Spray was promoted to executive vice president and CFO of MasterBrand Cabinets Inc. After graduating from Kellogg, Chris spent four years at Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, Mich., rising to the level of manager of the cost control and strategy group. He first joined MasterBrand Cabinets as a senior director of strategy. Craig resides in Jasper, Ind., with his wife Coni and two children.

Amanda and Brad Turner annouced the arrival of their second son, Davis Arthur Turner. He was born on Feb. 23 and weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces. His older brother, Cole, is very happy to have a playmate!

Kathleen and Travis Vigil welcomed their son Dylan Travis in October. Dylan's sister Maya (4) and his parents are delighted. In the office, Travis celebrated his five-year anniversary at Dell in May. He is leading a product management team responsible for enterprise hardware and very happy in the role.

Ursula Wright was promoted to chief operating officer at the National Alliance of Public Charter Schools ("Alliance") in March. She served as the Alliance's chief financial officer for three years before accepting her new position.

Michael Hermawan, chief operating officer of MarkPlus Inc., reports that his company organized Professor Philip Kotler's seminar in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that occurred May 27 and 30. He writes: "There were several Kellogg alumni attending the seminars, and we all attempted to wear a purple tie to show the Kellogg spirit. What also made it special is that May 27 was Professor Kotler's birthday. After the public seminar, we had a special celebration gala dinner for Professor Kotler, sponsored by Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism and Culture at the National Museum, which was attended by high-ranking business executives and very senior government officials. Professor Kotler and my father, Hermawan Kartajaya (who is a co-author of five books with Kotler), were made special tourism ambassadors of Indonesia as well, granted by the Minister of Tourism himself. We also arranged a tour for Professor Kotler to visit President Barack Obama's former elementary school (SD Menteng 01) in Jakarta.

"We published a special edition on Professor Kotler's latest book Chaotics: Marketing in Turbulent Times in our Marketeers magazine recently. This periodical also features a 'Dear Phil' section that includes many birthday celebratory epigrams from his friends and colleagues throughout the world, including from Kellogg Dean Dipak Jain."
