1997 — Part-Time

Tim Cartwright presented the keynote address Jan. 31 at the 10th Annual Entrepreneurs Law School, an event coordinated by the Small Business Development Center of Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Fla. Tim, managing director of Compass Advisory Group and president of the Gulf Coast Venture Forum, spoke on the topic of "The Stress and Frustration of 'Maybe' — Why is Raising Capital So Difficult?"

Sharyle Doherty celebrated her 10th anniversary at Ultimate Software with a new role as vice president of product strategy communications. She writes: "I am responsible for customer and employee communications about our product roadmap and software releases. I am enjoying it immensely because I have the opportunity to use my creative skills of writing, editing and speaking every day. Ultimate Software was ranked the No. 1 best medium company to work for in America in 2008 and it truly is a great place to work."

Mike Ostaffe is vice president of product management and development for the welding consumables business of ESAB Welding and Cutting Products in Hanover, Pa.

John P. Strelecky spent two months traveling in Europe and Asia where he was speaking to leaders about how to capitalize on opportunities brought about by the current economy. His latest book, The Big Five for Life — Leadership's Greatest Secret, was just released in Germany and Japan after debuting in the U.S. in 2008.

Rob Lynch passed the one-year mark with Biotronik on Feb. 1, and just wrapped up Ben's First Holy Communion in May. He comments: "We bought a Boston Whaler to cruise around the Chicago waterways. All is good with the Lynch family."

My wife Rebecca Blake '02 and I continue to enjoy our two little boys Jackie (3.5) and Marcus (2). Jackie is looking forward to his first pro football game this fall and understands that Marcus' birthday heralds the start of football season.
