Reunion! Guillaume Liron, Nobu Nakajima, Christian Vandendriessche, Chuck Napier, Etienne Veber, Mauricio Graber, Andres Ibanez and Stephane Kanovitch, all '89

1989 — Full-Time

It was great seeing such a large turnout at our 20th Reunion in Evanston the weekend of May 1-3. Many people deserve boatloads of thanks, including those of you who came from out of town (we all know how hard that is with families and jobs) and our 20-plus classmates on the Reunion committee who organized the weekend. The committee was represented by Gwen Farley Green, Brian Weed and George Graffy at Saturday night's dinner. Extra special thanks go to Carolyn Glastris and her husband, Bill '84, who opened their beautiful Winnetka home for a spectacular class party. We were lucky to be joined by Deans Jacobs, Wilson and Jain, whose delightful remarks reminded us that he was beginning his career at Kellogg around the time we all showed up in 1987. The Kellogg Alumni Web site has photo galleries from the weekend along with an e-book for our class where you can catch up on details of specific classmates.

Tina Tranfaglia was at the Reunion and reported: "I have been working as a freelance marketing/new products consultant for the past two years in the Chicago area. I am in the process of starting a second consulting practice in college admissions coaching — helping students and parents navigate the competitive arena of college admissions. I have always been passionate about education, and have been doing admissions work and pro-bono coaching for almost 20 years. I am still putting the final details for College Knowledge together, but in the meantime, I am always willing to dole out a little free advice. Feel free to contact me at 847.331.6874 or tranfaglia@att.net."

Thanks to Mauricio Graber for sending in photos from Reunion weekend.

Karen Mellman-Smith was part of a friendly competition at Reunion to see who had the youngest children in the class. She thought she might have been the winner with a 14-month-old daughter, but it turns out that Daiquiri Sartor won with a 6-month-old baby boy. And reportedly Barry Deutsch has 17-month-old triplets, so he was definitely in the running. Any other entrants? Please let me know. Karen has been married to Peter Smith since 2005 and writes: "I have two amazing children: Benjamin (3) and Danielle (1). As for updates on the professional front, I have been running my own branded entertainment and product placement agency, Spotlight Marketing, since 1996. Our clients include Sprint, Pier 1, Victoria's Secret and Seattle's Best Coffee. The world of branded entertainment is fast-growing with the focus on alternative media, and I'm happy to be at the center of the action!"

John Wood was featured as a guest blogger on Fortune Magazine's Postcards Web site in April and wrote about Room to Read.

Keep the news and pics coming! See you next time.
