— Full-Time
Greetings Class of '87. Not much luck with the call-outs last time, but thankfully I did hear from Lynnda-Maria Davis who has a friend moving to St. Charles. I pestered her for some personal news and she was kind enough to provide me with this update. Lynnda and her husband, Steven, live in Columbus, Ohio, and when Gary and Kim McCullough were living there they really enjoyed getting together with them. They are greatly missed now. Lynnda's husband is chairman of the board and CEO of a company that most of us have very fond breakfast feelings for: Bob Evans Farms, Inc. At least I know I do. Lynnda is actively involved with helping to find the cure for brain dysfunctions. She is on the National Board for NARSAD.org, the world's largest fund-raiser for mental health research. Lynnda and Steve have three daughters. One is a journalism grad working full time. This was music to my ears as I have a junior in college studying journalism (at University of Iowa) and it seems every other day I'm reading about the death of the profession. Their next oldest is at Ohio State University. They also have a 9-year-old at home. So, no empty nest syndrome for Lynnda and Steve for a while. I know a lot of you are probably relishing the idea, or maybe you're already enjoying it. Personally I am dreading it. I'm sure I'll get back into "having my own life again," hobbies and activities, but I'll really miss having my kids around. Well, that's about it. Lynnda, you really saved me. Thank you! For next time, I'm trying a new tactic that was suggested by Mr. Networker himself, Lee Wright. I'm connecting with a bunch of classmates on LinkedIn. There is a surprising number of our classmates there. If you get an invite from me, please respond. Thanks. 'Til next time. |
