Rob Garrison and wife Anne have some big news to share! They have opened a new restaurant in downtown Wilmette in June.  Depot Nuevo Restaurant (depotnuevo.com) will feature Latin American-inspired cuisine and is located on one of the best-looking historic buildings on the North Shore.  The Web site has a photo of the building with their new sign, and the site will be updated on a regular basis, listing current events, photos and menus. We wish Rob and Anne much success!

Here's a little something Bob Paddock offers: "As chairman this year of Cook County Suburban Publishers Association, and as an observer and participant in the news/journalism profession here in the U.S. and Chicago, I just wish I had taken that course in soothsaying I had heard was offered in the old observatory building at Northwestern. It would come in handy knowing who would eventually own Wrigley Field and the Cubs (not to mention other matters such as whether this would be 'the year' and what would happen to the media players here in the Chicago area).  Anyway, as I reflect on being a trustee of Roosevelt University, on recently visiting semi-retired undergrad profs at Lawrence University in Wisconsin, and thinking back to the great times and others at Kellogg, I've seen and appreciated various aspects of academia. I understand why schools should and should not send so many fund-raising requests!  My spouse, Marcie, is in her last year of a fine arts degree at the American Academy in Chicago, which she feels will give her permission to paint anything that doesn't move!"
