Karl Saunders reports he's been busy at Orthopaedic Associates of Zanesville, where they've expanded the building and added state-of-the-art digital X-ray and a new GE MRI scanner. Karl would like to let John Chiminski (who is still at GE) know where to send the thank-you note. Karl's practice centers on adult reconstructive and total joint surgery. He is also a certified ringside physician for mixed martial arts. Additionally, Karl has trained in Kachi Do Aikijitsu for six years and was promoted to black belt following a test during which he defended against multiple armed and unarmed attackers. Karl is also a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and continues to train at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City.

John Chiminski and his family moved to the Philadelphia area, where he is now the president and CEO of GE Healthcare's medical diagnostics business. John is still trying to sell his farm in Watertown, Wis., for anyone interested!

Long lost Joan Barr has been found! Joan would like everyone to have her e-mail address, JoanBarr@aol.com, and would like to hear from everyone. Much has changed for Joan. Unfortunately, Joan's husband died in 1998. She retired from the state in 2001. In 2004 Joan married Wayne Smith, and they live in three places: Evanston, Deerfield, N.H., and the rural panhandle of Florida, way out in the country outside of Bonifay. Between Joan and Wayne, they have four grandsons age 6 and under. Last January Joan was ordained a deacon in the Episcopal Church. All in all, Joan reports "life is good."

Yours truly is still at First Data in Denver, the world leader in electronic payment processing. KKR and affiliates purchased First Data in September 2007 for $29B, among the largest transactions in LBO history. Life in a large private company with significant debt is fun and fast-moving. After several promotions leading to global product management responsibility for First Data, the company has formed a new global business unit to focus on mobile commerce. I was named president of this new unit in January.
