A group of 2001 alums in Japan gathered to wish Tadashi Matsushita ‘01 well in his new assignment in Hong Kong. This group has a strong relationship even seven years after graduation.

Cynthia Reid (NU '99) and Robert McClung, both of Chicago, married May 31. Cyndy works as director of marketing for the executive search firm Spencer Stuart. Rob is a vice president for NAVTEQ, a producer of digital map data.

Ann (Rollert) and Mike Biddlecom welcomed a second daughter named Riley to the world on Jan. 8. That makes three Capricorn women in the house. Big sister Lucy's and mom's birthdays are all within a week of each other!

Victoria and Keith Bough announce the birth of their daughter, Lauren Elisabeth, on Nov. 8 in San Francisco. "She is a happy baby with an easygoing personality," Keith reports. The family resides in San Francisco, where Keith runs a venture-backed media startup, and Victoria manages the marketing and strategy consulting practice for Forrester Research.

Kristin and Chris Graham are happy to announce the birth of their daughter Cecilia on Nov. 20. Chris is working at Irevna, a research services firm. He's been there five years and is now director of global business development based in New York. He writes, "I'm traveling a lot as we have recently opened offices in Hong Kong and Argentina, but hoping to see Kelloggians at N.Y. events too!"Gretchen Hall and Peter Solomon '00 are still happily living in Wellesley, Mass. They welcomed a second daughter, Eliza Beatrix Solomon on Oct. 18. Gretchen is working from home for Booz Allen.

Ken Thompson and wife Melissa are excited about their new little bundle of joy, Caroline, who joined them Sept. 19. They are living in Houston, and Ken is now working for an energy company, which takes some of the bite out of high gasoline prices.

Todd Wincup and wife Tammy Mank Wincup welcomed baby No. 3, Avery Margaret Wincup, on Dec. 29. They join big brother Grant (4) and Reid Elizabeth (2). The Wincups reside in Washington, D.C., where Todd is a senior adviser at Patton Boggs LLP.

Bibi Choa writes: "All is well with me and Nayat. We are in Tokyo, where I started in mid-November handling Levi's for Japan."

Recently there has been a lot of buzz around green initiatives in the U.S. and elsewhere. In keeping with the spirit, Tushar Dhayagude founded mSilica in 2006 in Silicon Valley. mSilica has semiconductor IC products that enable adoption of energy-efficient and ecologically benign panels in notebook computers and LCD TVs. Tushar also co-founded a solar power venture in 2007, Efficient Solar, for which he is a board director.

Jeffere Ferris transferred to IBM Australia to launch the media and entertainment consulting practice. Jeffere, his wife, Sara, and son (1), Winston, are living in North Bondi, Sydney. They are glad to spend many Aussie summer evenings with Sally Burns and her husband, Smitty, and their daughter, Harper.

Dana Hagendorf recently started a new job as vice president of marketing for Audemars Piguet, the world's oldest luxury watch manufacturer still in the hands of its founding families. In this role, she manages the marketing, advertising, and public relations efforts for the United States and Canada and reports directly to the company's CEO. She is based in the New York City headquarters.

Alyssa Kennedy has moved from Chicago to Los Angeles to take a new job. She left management consulting at Accenture to do equity research for a small company called Aletheia Research and Management. She writes, "I'm looking to connect with alumni in the area, particularly ones with backgrounds in finance, given my career switch."

Tyler Vaughey recently relocated back to New York City to assume a new sales leadership role with American Express. On his first day in the N.Y. office, he ran into Debbie Curtis who had recently joined American Express as vice president of advertising after nearly six years in marketing with L'Oreal USA. Since joining the company, she has launched new advertising campaigns featuring fashion icon Diane von Furstenburg and entertainer Ellen DeGeneres.

Christopher Mulshine writes: "I joined Credit-Suisse in New York, where I am a managing director and head of hedge fund manager coverage for capital services in the Americas. Living with wife Michelle and three children in Riverside, Conn."

Brian Poger and Silvia Cheskes married on Feb. 17 in Ixtapa, Mexico. Following a weekend of wedding celebrations, the couple celebrated their birthdays on the 18th and 19th in a trifecta of big events. The wedding date was chosen to help Brian from forgeting their anniversary anytime soon. The newlyweds were joined by many Kellog gians for the festivities.

Mark Verschuur and wife Dusanka had a third child, Alexandra, on June 28, 2007. The growing family lives in Chicago where Mark is a vice president with Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management.

 
Brian Poger ‘01 and Silvia Cheskes married on Feb. 17 in Ixtapa, Mexico.
