After
four years of Midwestern semi-rural bliss,John
Coyle and his family moved to Chicagoland last June.
"I had been commuting for over a year from Madison, Wisc.,
and we finally gave in and moved to the big city," he
reported. "My wife, Shannon, daughter Katelina (7) and
I now live in Streamwood, a suburb sandwiched between Elgin
and Schaumburg. We chose it in part due to our proximity to
a 40 square-mile nature preserve with a paved 9.2 mile bike
loop (Shoefactory Woods). I'm still at U.S. Cellular in marketing
there. Like the last few years, I'm gearing up for another
summer of bike racing. I entered 32 races last summer and
even as I head toward my 40th birthday, I'm still able to
compete with the full-time professionals, even if I didn't
actually win any races last year. Also, I've joined the athlete
council for the 2016 Chicago Olympic bid, which has been interesting
and rewarding. Confidence is high that we may win. We'll find
out next year!"
Dave
Schmidt survived the longest winter he can remember —
"or maybe it's just that I'm getting older," he
admits. "Now that I'm a converted Cubs fan (though I
still root for the Pirates when they play one another), wife
Kathleen, daughters Kaitlyn (1), newborn Kelsey and I will
be cheering on the Cubs. Until winter-like weather finally
passes, I have our sunroom equipped with extra lamps, a heater
and Cubs banners. Now I just need some ivy!"
Tim
Cartwright, president of the Gulf Coast Venture Forum
(GCVF) in Naples, was recently asked to join the Florida Venture
Forum's Early Stage Selection Committee. The committee was
responsible for the selection of early stage companies from
across Florida to present their investment prospectus at the
inaugural conference in May.
Mona
Aossey moved from New Jersey to New York City and is working
as a finance director for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. "I
live on Central Park West on the Upper West Side. I'm still
single, and have been traveling a lot and enjoying life!"
