Jayne Coyne writes with an update: "I just got back from a year working in the Congo (DRC). My role as the head of mission for Doctors Without Borders was an incredible experience. North Kivu, violent since the early '90s, had a peak of fighting that displaced hundreds of thousands of civilians. It was an incredible experience to try to help provide healthcare for these people, manage the epidemics of measles and cholera that came along with their limited living conditions, and ensure the security of the teams. Intellectually it was the most interesting thing I have ever done, also soundly the hardest job I have ever held. And for all of you who were in Stoller's communications class with me, you will appreciate how badly I struggled to manage the journalists."

Lori Kalahar Johnson and husband Chad welcomed their first child, Alexander William Johnson, on Jan. 13. Lori continues to work as vice president, online strategy, at Fidelity Investments in Boston, in addition to her new mom duties with cutie pie Alexander.

Kris Rich recently accepted a position at Whirlpool in Benton Harbor, Mich., as director of strategy and business development for the refrigeration business. He and his family will be relocating there from their home in Libertyville, Ill., this summer.

Jessica Kam writes with some happy news: "I gave birth to my daughter, Yvette Elizabeth Engle, on Feb. 16 in Hong Kong. My husband, Steve, and I are crazy about the new addition to the family, though my cat Bon Bon (who has been with me since Kellogg) was not too pleased to be constantly neglected. On the work front, I have been with Celestial Pictures doing film marketing and distribution for the past three years, after leaving MTV where I enjoyed a few fun years managing its China channel. This summer, I will be embarking on a new venture, moving from Hong Kong to Beijing with the family. If any of you are planning to visit Beijing during or after the Olympics, it will be wonderful to catch up there."

John Glushik and Rod MacLeod shared war stories from the start-up world at the National Venture Capital Association conference in Santa Clara, Calif., in May.

Kurt Plumer was surprised by wife Kristi, Dave Stokes, Mike Wagner and other friends with a party celebrating his 40th birthday in April.
