Chicago
Alumni
Club of Chicago (KACC)
Kellogg
Alumni Club of Chicago members have been busy attending several
book club get-togethers throughout the city and suburbs as
well as participating in a variety of events supporting local
institutions and community activities.
Kellogg
Family Day was hosted at the Kohl Children's Museum, where
families got to know each other over refreshments and then
enjoyed all-day admission to the museum. Alumni families had
a great day exploring the museum and sharing a lot of fun
with their fellow alums!
Another
well-known Chicago institution, the Merchandise Mart, was
the venue for a Red Tag Sale and Dream Room event where alumni
received VIP credentials to shop for premium home furnishings,
including furniture, fabrics, fixtures and lighting. They
were also treated to tours of Dream Rooms, where displays
of manufacturers' products provided plenty of home decorating
ideas. This is becoming a popular alumni event and has been
sold out the past two times.
Several
alumni volunteers helped clean up and plant seedlings along
a portion of the Chicago River during Chicago River Day. Alums
worked in the morning and then attended the Chicago River
Festival in the afternoon. The festival included a barbecue,
canoe rides, live music and an environmental fair. This is
another popular annual event for our Chicago area alumni,
who, along with other groups from schools, corporations and
neighborhood organizations, supported a great cause and gave
back to our community.
