Sharon Folliard, Susan Forsell, Sheila Musolino of EMP-55

EMP-55

Chander Chawla hosted some of our EMP group at India House restaurant in Chicago. We celebrated Cinco De Mayo together at an Indian restaurant! In attendance were Mark Straszynski and his wife, Robin Haldeman; Lilia Kiselev and her husband, Ivan; Cristina Gomez and her friend Paul O'Keefe, Amy Kovalan and her husband, Edward Kerros; and Sharon Folliard (me) and my husband, Lance Driskill. The food was delicious and we all had a great time. Thanks much to Chander for organizing!

Susan Forsell and I went to cooking school in Italy. The school is based on the Sorrento Peninsula, so we got to tour the breathtakingly beautiful Amalfi coast. My favorite dish was the home made cheese ravioli. Mmmm, it was delicious! Maybe Susan and I will demonstrate our cooking skills at our next EMP-55 women's gathering!

Roy Hillier is no longer with Equity Excel. He will focus attention on his consulting business.

EMP-55's Raymond Ye, Jay Goldstein, Michael Wu caught up while Jay was on a sourcing trip for his 2005 acquired company, CMI Inc, manufacturers of electric fly swatters (pictured in Jay's hand).

Shari Litow is still with Dupont, and she moved into a new role as venture manager for a new start-up business within the bio-based materials business unit. She will be moving to Richmond, Va., with her family in July to accept a different position with one of the new Dupont business units. She'll be sales manager responsible for overhauling one of their sales organizations. She's excited about the large revenue opportunity. Congrats to Shari!

Mike Smedley and his wife, Kristin, hosted our study group at their home just outside of Philly. Joining the Smedleys and their kids for the weekend were Mark Straszynski and his wife, Robin; Shari Litow and her husband, David; Martin Arron and his wife, Lori; and my husband and I. Mike and Kristin cooked up a storm all weekend. We had great Philly food: soft pretzels, cheese steaks, hoagies, Tastykakes, and pork parts. Everyone brought their kids, and we can see the next generation of Kellogg EMP will be a motley crew. We all had a great time! Our group of Twisted Ferrets was minus one. Bill Daley we missed you!

Mike Smedley is still vice president and general manager with Trigen (a district energy company) in the Philly area. He's focused at work and having fun with this kids. His son Mikey just wrapped up wrestling season and is getting ready for swim team.

Mark Straszynskiis still working at UPG as treasurer and corporate controller. He's enjoying long weekends at his second home in Phoenix whenever he can.

Kim Wrobleski reports that her division of Bayer was acquired by Siemens. She has a global position and is traveling everywhere!

Raymond Ye, Jay Goldstein and Michael Wu got together in Shanghai in April to catch up while Jay was on a sourcing trip for his 2005 acquired company, CMI Inc., manufacturers of electric fly swatters and light-up advertising specialty and bicycle safety products. Raymond is enjoying his eleventh year with SC Johnson and is a director for China where he and his wife have the unusual pleasure of living in a single-family dwelling in Shanghai. Michael is also based in Shanghai, in his second year with high-tech semiconductor company Xilinx as an Asia Pacific director. He "commutes" to Chicago's northern suburbs about eight times a year to be with his wife and teenage son. After their visit over lunch, they put Jay on the Maglev train — which travels faster than 260 miles per hour — to the airport for his flight back to the States.
