EMP-54
Steve
Adams
moved back to Houston from Chicago in September. Steve is
now the president of the operating division of Cardinal Health
Pharmacy Services, for which he was the CFO during our time
at Kellogg.
Don
Aven left Edward Jones at the end of 2005 and started
a firm with some guys on Wall Street called XShares securities.
They are an exchanged traded fund firm, and their first family
of funds is called HealthShares, which includes 20 separate
funds that are based on sub-sectors of the healthcare industry.
They trade on the NYSE and you can see them every day in the
paper. Don was able to be on the stage at the NYSE to ring
the bell on Jan. 23. Don works in New York City during the
week and spends weekends with his three children in St. Louis.
Percy
Cui sends his regards from Beijing and welcomes visitors.
He is still with FedEx Kinko's, running its China operation.
May
was an exciting month for Joe Dalum. At Erin Hills
(named the best new course of the year by Golf Magazine),
Joe got his first hole-in-one, and it was the first one at
that golf course (located in Erin, Wis.). It was Hole 16,
155 yards. Also, Joe was recently elected chairman of the
board of directors of Notre Dame Middle School, an all-girls
middle school located in Milwaukee's Hispanic neighborhood
whose mission is to help young, underprivileged girls attend
college preparatory high schools and eventually college. Rana
Altenburg also serves on this board.
Pete
Dankwerth moved to St. Paul, Minn., last July and is the
vice president of finance for Ecolab's global supply chain.
Mike
Kennedy is now the head of sales and marketing for a division
of Bombardier. He and his family returned from London a while
back and live in the Milwaukee area.
Rebecca
Liebert is doing great things at Honeywell. She and her
husband, Keith, bought a house in Phoenix, where she is based,
but they still have their home in Pittsburgh. Rebecca is also
spending lots of time in Asia with her Honeywell team.
Jason
Oakley is now general manager over one of Ingersol Rand's
operating divisions.
On
April 26, Gary Smalley became a dad. Wife Loren gave
birth to beautiful Isabella, who weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces
and measured 19 inches.
Mark
Smith is still in Nashville and working for Cummins, but
now he heads finance and strategy for Cummins Components Group,
which has revenues of close to $3 billion. Mark is also sponsoring
a current EMPer.
A
gathering of the EMP-54 Wisconsin Group recently took place
at Bar Louie — Milwaukee! Maureen Bryan, Joe
Dalum, Lora Rosenbaum,
Dirk Wouters and Rana
Altenburg christened the newest Milwaukee establishment. Charlie
Kinas and George Baus even joined the group by phone. While it's no Evanston, the Milwaukee
location does have an outdoor patio. Visitors are always welcome!
