EMP-38

Hi all, with each passing year, it gets a little harder to come by EMP-38 news. I don't know if that's because we've all stopped "moving" or we're just moving slower!

Peter Guletsky is still living in Vernon Hills, Ill., with his wife, Paula, daughters Anastasia (17) and Tatiana (7) and son Alexander (14). He recently left Sargent & Lundy and accepted a position with Cummins & Barnard Inc., a consulting engineering firm in the power industry. Peter will be vice president and general manager for the firm's Chicago office.

We had our EMP-38 roving reporter, Tom Schwingbeck, attend an event to provide his play-by-play of a February event: "EMP-38 gathered for our long-awaited class reunion at the home of Trish Lambrecht. We could not have picked a better evening. It turned out to be one of the nastiest nights of the winter with a snow, ice, wind and cold advisory in effect. You would have thought we gathered in the arctic. We had a warm fire going in the fireplace and a fine Mexican fiesta to warm everyone up. The margaritas were flowing and definitely welcome. The group was small: Juanita and Larry Brand, Tom and Renee Schwingbeck, Mary Bouska, Tom Hajduch, Ed Ogata and Kathy Field Orr, and Paula and Bob Simoncini. Because of the confusion with the dates on the invitation, Julie and Mike Shelton were there in spirit, but they were looking for dinner and a beverage the next night. The small group made it easy to visit with everyone. We shared some stories and had a few laughs. The only blemish on the entire evening was the salt on the rims of the glasses. Trish claims she was cleaning her carpet for weeks."

Finally, I'd like to challenge everyone to the EMP-38 version of "Where's Waldo?" Our very own Scott Etzler and Jeff Vender seem to land in the Kellogg World in places other than our class notes. They are often pictured or written up for their work on Kellogg Alumni Advisory Board. Perhaps you will be the next person to see their names!
