2004
— Full-Time
From
Heather Ptacek and Sarah Butterfass:
Cheers
to the Class of 2004! Our fearless leader Maren Lau
has skipped town with new hubby Juampi Rossi (they're
moving to Argentina!) so we thought we'd lend a hand in getting
all of your exciting news spread around Kellogg World.
It's been quite a year for our class: new homes, promotions,
classmates marrying each other (and we thought the dating
scene was nonexistent), and let's just call it the next Kellogg
baby boom! For those of you who opted out of sending news,
not to worry, we raided our photo albums. Lucky for you, no
pics at the Keg resurfaced. Hope you enjoy and keep the news
coming.

Carrie
Cimmet sends her hello from Washington, D.C. She's working
at AOL as a program director and enjoying life with husband
Scott Mitchell. They married in October 2005, with friends
Peggy Mathias, Megan Elfers, Kim Milstein,
and Kim Folk in attendance.
Derek
Apanovitch married
Rebecca Hopkins in May 2006 in Key West, Fla. Kellogg alumni
in attendance wereKannan Arumugam Kartik Natarajan,
Chris Rzymski and Aaron Kloch '05. A great time was had by all
in Key West! Derek recently left Kaplan to take a position
as vice president of marketing for Health Benefits Direct
Corporation, a direct marketer and distributor of health and
life insurance products to individuals, families and groups.
It's
official! Lilly (Liu) and Eric Minkove
are living happily ever after. They celebrated their wedding
in August 2006 in Baltimore, Md., with a huge Kellogg representation
at the wedding. Sanem Erucar, Dave Van Steenkiste,
Will Nolen, Garret Ulosevich, Tom Macejko,
Brian Colton, Katja (Roever) Lindo, Dean Lindo
'03, Analia and Pablo Simone and Maya Lyttleton.
Lilly and Eric spent their honeymoon in the Greek Isles of
Santorini and Mykonos, and in Istanbul, Turkey. They're living
in New York. Eric works at Portfolio Logic and Lilly left
McKinsey to join Coach's strategy group last September.
Tanner
and Edwin Van Dusen were married last Aug. 12.
Several Kellogg folks witnessed the event. The weather was
perfect, the ceremony went off without a hitch and the event
ended with a certain former Kellogg social chair being cut
off ... from the mini cheeseburgers.
Next
up on the Kellogg wedding circuit were Rachel Levin
and Bill Fiely. Yes, the wedding we've all been waiting
for since 2002 finally happened! The two hosted a beautiful
black-tie affair in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 26. Kellogg showed
up in force to celebrate with Rachel and Bill (Bajan-style,
that is!).
On
Sept. 2 Doug Roth, Joost Van Rens, Reinhold
Baudisch and their spouses traveled to Amsterdam to celebrate
the wedding of Olfert De Wit and his longtime partner,
Otto Asselbergs. Olfert writes that this is "Probably
the first official gay wedding for the class of '04,"
though he may have to duke that one out with Andy Sofield
(see below). Karel Schaepman was part of the ceremonies
as Otto's best man. The celebrations included a boat tour
across the famous Amsterdam canals, the official ceremonies
in a centuries-old former church and a swinging white party
(kicked of by a drag queen).
If
you missed the announcement on Page 6, Andy Sofield married
Drew Meade at the party heard 'round New York. In September,
the Andrews hosted a four-day wedding marathon at the Adirondack
League Club in upstate New York. There to partake in the revelries
were Danielle Bozarth '03, Melissa
Calderwood, Jamee Field, E.G. Fishburne
'03, Brigid Ganley, Michael Haberkorn and
Kirstin Hornby, Alison (Curd) Lowery, Amanda
(Hoche) Klemm, Andrew Knuckle, Mara (Holian)
Lowry, Carrie Meek, Kristen Mitchell,
Heather Ptacek, Anne Smart, Jim Steckart,
Jay Victor and Mareike Willimsky '03.
Roman
Uribe's wedding was well attended by Kellogg alumni! The
September festivities were held in Mexico City.
Willie
Harbert and Laureen Tews were married on April 28 in Cleveland,
Ohio. They enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon in Mexico. Kellogg
classmates in attendance were Tolga Latif, Farrokh
Batliwala, Sri Kaza, Jason Williams,
Amanda Greenwald, Mike Moran, Jason Greenwald,
Jason Roberts and Fang Chang '05.
Bianka
Ramirez and Amit Ahuja were married May 5 (Cinco de Mayo)
in Long Island, N.Y., with a very Latin and Indian inspired
celebration. Kellogg was well represented; there to celebrate
were Stephanie Davis, Guhan Selvaretnam,
Stacy McAuliffe, Marene Jennings, Maren
Lau, Sapna Chadha, Dan Beck, Ginger Agregado,
Jennifer Chen, Juampi Rossi, Jessica Watson,
Michelle Carmichael, John Carr '03 and Suresh Khanna '03.
Brian
Zeiger wrote us from his honeymoon in Greece. He married
Pam Smith in Cape Cod on May 12. In March 2006, Brian joined
Fremont Realty Capital, a real estate private equity firm
in San Francisco.
Lisa
Watkins and her husband, Jake, have expanded their family.
They now live in Rowayton, Conn., and have welcomed their
second baby, Katharine Bella. Katharine was born in November
and joins big brother Jack (2). Lisa left Unilever about a
year ago to be with her children and has been loving it. She's
off on her next adventure, though. She and Jake are starting
a small real estate investment and development company focusing
on residential projects in both Connecticut and Florida. Good
luck!
Susanna
Ver Eecke and her husband welcomed Charles Hammond Ver
Eecke, born last Aug. 19.
Oct.
9 marked a transformation in the Franklin McClelland
household with the arrival of Elizabeth Harper McClelland.
Susan and Mac are thrilled, though we think part of the thrill
for Mac is in having found someone who will happily let him
pontificate without cutting him off. Just wait till Eliza
grows up!
Rob
and Dana Zuber welcomed their son, Declan Jared Zuber,
as the first-born American in the family on Nov. 27. In other
news, Dana switched companies and is now happily enjoying
being a working mom and strategy consultant at Wells Fargo
Wealth Management Group.
In
January,Scott Shrum and his wife, Anita, welcomed Diana Singh Shrum
to the world. Little Diana is constantly amazing her parents
with all of the things she's learning, like grasping her toys
and rolling over. Enjoy it, Scott — before long, she'll
be taking her GMATs. Scott was recently promoted to brand
manager on the Scrubbing Bubbles brand at S.C. Johnson. Congrats!
Juan
Ordonez reports that "In 2005, I married a beautiful
woman, Carmen, and now we have quite a big family: her two
kids from her previous marriage and my son, Joaquin. We live
in Buenos Aires and are very happy!"
Juan
started his own company two years ago and reports that things
are going well. He also mentioned that he, Mario Dominguez
and Hernan Grimoldi lead the Kellogg Alumni Club of
Argentina (and have a lot of fun in the meantime).
James
Wiggins reports that he is alive and well and that he,
Laura, Jack and Sophie are living in Brazil. James still denies
those rumors he's a secret agent, but we're having a hard
time buying it. He says he will be moving shortly to Iraq,
and following that the family will be moving to Ethopia.
For
those of you in Manhattan, look out for Richard Sanders.
He, wife Lara and new baby Josh (born July 2006) moved to
New York in March, when Richard joined Clovis Capital.
While
Tak Nagai has decided to publish a wholesome picture
of himself and Koji Miura with their adorable children, those
of us who knew him as the Moose Ninja know better!
Akeshia
Craven, Brian Baral, Scott Cohen, Heather
Ptacek, Kim Folk, Lisa Mullaney and Jamee
Field escaped the Chicago winter in Chelsea, S.C., in
March. Good times were had by all, with plenty of time for
horseback riding, hunting and relaxing. Interested in more
details? We feel this says it all: Scott Cohen, a gun and
a horse...
Shortly
after the trip to Chelsea, Jamee Field departed Chicago (temporarily)
for Tanzania, where she is working for the WWF (World Wildlife
Fund, not the wrestling federation with the same initials).
We are all eagerly awaiting her return to the States in July.
Paul
Gregory changed jobs in August 2006, moving from one large
Ukrainian metals company to an even larger one. He now is
the head of mergers and acquisitions for Metinvest Holding.
In his free time, he can be found doting over his two beautiful
daughters, Annetta and Marina.
Since
we are both in Chicago, we have tons of news about the goings
on here. Rather than deluging you all with tons of pictures,
we decided to pick some highlights.
We've
all developed a fondness for games of our youth — everything
from kickball and dodgeball to flip cup. In September, a team
of Kellogg ladies trounced the gentlemen in a flip cup tournament
to be remembered for years. We are also in the midst of our
third kickball season. Team Skort-tacular is undefeated as
of the printing of Kellogg World.
The
most exciting news, however, are the new additions to Chicago!
Apparently Chicago is the new place to be (although Brendan
Sheehan apparently didn't see it that way, as he left
for Washington, D.C., last fall). In recent months we've had
Kim Folk, Kara Palamountain, Kim (Milstein)
Buckley, Mark Buckley, Jen (Posner) Napier '03,
Dave Napier, Dave Adams and Brad Reisinger
move back to town. We are now accepting applications
for summer 2007 Chicago transplants.
That's
all we have for now. Looking forward to hearing more from
all of you!
