2002 — Part-Time

I apologize for the brevity of this update, but I have been unable to reach my classmates in the manner I would like while meeting the challenges of a new position at a new firm. I'm certain by the next edition of Kellogg World I will be able to better manage the situation. That said, on March 1, I left Aon to join Textura LLC in Lake Bluff, Ill., to serve as the director of marketing and sales. Textura is an early-stage technology company that is making the byzantine system by which people get paid in commercial construction paperless and significantly more efficient. As a newcomer to this industry, I would welcome any insights or assistance my classmates may be able to provide. There are three other updates I'd like to share with you:

Congratulations to Heather Foote Daas and husband Charlie on the birth of the first child, Griffin Charles Daas, on May 30 at Prentice Women's Hospital at Northwestern. It seems only fitting, as for the last year or so Heather has been one of the senior project managers responsible for getting the new Prentice up and running by later this year.

Tom Nguyen wrote me to say: "After leaving Vietnam in 1975 on one of the last helicopters, I have been asked by Deutsche Bank to be head of equities in Vietnam. Although I just got to London barely a year ago, these opportunities never come at the right time. Again, wife, three kids and I are packing up and moving to Ho Chi Minh City. I will be responsible for building out DB's equities business, from scratch, in Vietnam. I am nervous, scared and excited at the same time. Wish me luck. It will at the very least make a good book someday. Anyone coming through Vietnam please look me up."

Rochelle Richardson has joined the business consultants and accountants team as a manager at the Chicago office of SolomonEdwardsGroup LLC. Also, she is an active fundraiser for The United Negro College Fund, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and sickle cell anemia.

Please feel free to reach out to me anytime and let me know what's going on with you or if you just want to chat and grab lunch or coffee. All the best to you and yours.
