2002 — Full-Time

It was great to see so many of our fellow classmates at the five-year reunion in May. We had such a fantastic time seeing everyone and getting caught up. For those of you who could not make it, we missed you! Here is some news so that you can get a bit caught up!

Margie '03 and Kevin Stineman welcomed Meg on March 1. Meg was born 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and Natalie can attest personally that she is adorable. Margie and Kevin are enjoying the new addition to their family!

Samantha Cooper was born on May 19 to proud parents Matt and Melissa (Gellert) Cooper. Big sister Kate seems to be enamored of her new toy for now.

Vito Iaia writes: "I left L.A. in early May to build and run the music services team for Ticketmaster's European division, based out of London. Basically just trying to re-create what we built in the States over the past three years or so — a team that interfaces with the artist community. We are responsible for creating and executing the strategic ticketing programs for every major concert tour that goes through Europe. And if my first month in London is any indication, we are also responsible for making sure that Jon Resnick has great seats to the Justin Timberlake show."

Carter Balkcom tells us that he changed jobs recently. He left Ford Motor Company and joined Audi of America in Auburn Hills, Mich., as a product manager.

Jay Koval and his wife, Jill, are getting settled into their new life on the East Coast. Jay is now running Starwood Hotels and Resorts' investor relations group. He says, "It is a great job with lots of amazing travel opportunities." He and Jill recently went to Paris, Madrid and St John.

The last we heard from Dave Meierding in this space was of his marriage to Mika two years ago. Last year proved to be no less eventful for them with the birth of their son, William Kentaro, on Aug. 19, 2006, in Tokyo. Since then, little Will has been wasting no time networking with Kellogg alumni. First, he hosted a Christmas TG with Shinya Naka and Hitomi, Karen and Emily; and Atsuko, Miki and Seiichi Goto. After moving to the San Francisco Bay area for his dad's new position at Chevron, Will liked to drop by pop's office to practice his elevator speech with Wayne Borduin, Ricardo Angel and Eduardo Fernandez. However, the mini-Meierding saw his best chance yet, RSVP'ing for the Kellogg Reunion in May, where he kicked it up a notch with Doug, Kim, Thomas and Doug Monro, along with several other international Kellogg families.

Heidi Eggert writes: "I've made a couple of changes since graduation. Last summer, I left the Bay Area and moved to Portland, Ore., to help my boyfriend, Tobias, with his political campaign. While I knocked on doors, filled out postcards, etc. for him, I started my own consulting business. I moderate focus groups and do marketing strategy consulting. In November, Tobias won the election (he's the newest state rep for the Beaverton area). In April, I accepted a new position as the head of the marketing team for Bonneville Environmental Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on selling renewable energy credits, reinvesting the proceeds in the development of new sources of solar and wind power, and doing watershed restoration. Now, I'm learning about the worlds of renewable energy and environmental protection and running my own consumer insights and strategy consulting business. If anyone is in the Portland area, please give us a call."

Sam Levine offers this report. "Neil Segall and I welcomed our first baby, Jasper Lewis Segall, into the world on St. Patrick's Day — three and a half weeks early, but healthy and strong! Everyone is doing well, though two of the three of us could use a bit more sleep. We also recently moved into a new house complete with room for guests, so the next time folks are in Boston they should stop by."

Nadine and Marjan Oman welcomed their second son, Andrej Daniel Oman, on March 23. The whole family, including big brother Pavel, are doing well. When not changing diapers, Marjan works as a manager at ZS Associates in the Chicago office.

Tiffany Schad recently received orders to transfer from Philadelphia in August to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) at Ft. Belvoir, Va., where she will be assigned as the deputy of the joint logistics operations center for two years. While she is sad to be leaving Philadelphia, she and her dog, Pooh, are looking forward to catching up with all of the Kellogg alumni and friends in the Washington, D.C., area. She was also selected recently as commander at sea, which means that she will be assigned as the supply officer of a large deck ship (i.e., aircraft carrier) after she completes her tour at DLA.

Carly (Loveman) and Jim Lutz welcomed daughter Cecelia June Lutz on March 18. Carly says, "She consistently amazes us. Her back-handsprings are flawless, she can juggle with her eyes closed, and yes, she can perform a triple lutz that would make Brian Boitano envious."

Robert Leff tells us: "I am excited to announce that on April 14 we had our second son, Ryan David. Jen, Joshua and Ryan are all doing great. Also, last year we moved to Thousand Oaks, Calif., when I joined Countrywide Financial Corporation California living is great. The family really enjoys it here, and I recently received my CPA and was promoted to first vice president, corporate financial planning at Countrywide."

Erica (Post) Rabb welcomed a baby boy, Alec Drew Rabb, on April 28. Alec's arrival prevented Erica from joining everyone at Reunion! Erica says: "He didn't quite understand my crazy work schedule and came a week early, but he is letting me sneak in some e-mails and conference calls for the remainder of May in an attempt to make my quota and close out the Oracle fiscal year. I will officially take the summer off and hope to get to Chicago at some point before going back to work."
