1980

writes: "Greetings Class of 1980. Is anyone still out
there? After years of good intentions, I am finally taking
five minutes to give my update from L.A. This year is a significant
one in our family. I turn 50, my wife, Betsy, turns 50. We
celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. Our son, Adam, turns
18, our daughter, Sara, turns 16, and our son, Joel, at 11
leaves elementary school. It's all good and hectic.
"My
business world has been filled with growth and challenge,
as I have started a second company. My commercial real estate
appraisal firm, Curtis-Rosenthal Inc., is now in its 24th
year, and we have evolved into a stable and mature company.
We continue to provide valuations for CMBS and Life company
lenders, as well as estate attorneys, corporations and pension
funds.
"The
new adventure has been my joint venture with an Australian
pension fund, MAB Corporation. We have set up a U.S. REIT
to invest in grocery-anchored shopping centers on behalf of
Australian investors (private and institutional). Our JV,
MAB Rosenthal LLC, manages the acquisitions, due diligence
and asset management for our growing portfolio. We were lucky
to bring on board fellow Kellogg alum Cary Uretz '82 to spearhead
the operation. It would be great to hear from some classmates,
so now it's your turn! G'day, mates!"
