Alumni Club of Los Angeles

The Kellogg Alumni Club of Los Angeles was honored to feature one of its own prominent local alumni, Mark Goldston '78, CEO and president of United Online, in our March speaker series event. Goldston — who recently contributed to Kellogg on Branding with a chapter titled, "Using Positioning to Build a Megabrand" — detailed the building of the Net Zero brand from startup to one of the top 100 brands in the nation. He was well received by the diverse audience members, which included not only local alums, but also current Kellogg students (visiting Los Angeles for the annual entertainment/media trek) and recent Kellogg admits.

The start of spring also signaled the start of the baseball season, and for many Kellogg Cubs and Dodgers fans, that meant a night of endless Dodger Dogs, liquid refreshments, and — oh yeah — a friendly rivalry between the two fan bases on a chilly April evening. The evenly matched teams kept it close until the end, when the Cubbies pulled away for the win.

In addition to quarterly happy hours hosted by KACLA, Kellogg alumni have organized several hikes to take advantage of the many scenic trails offered to Los Angelinos.

Various events are co-hosted with other MBA alumni organizations, and on July 29, KACLA will partner with several schools to host the first annual Southern California MBA Masters Golf Classic. It will be a fun day of golf and networking with 14 other business schools, where we will compete for prizes and raffle off many exciting items. Mark your calendars now and visit our homepage for more information.

Also, due to the popularity of the event last year, we will once again host Kellogg Night at the Pageant of the Masters (Orange County). If you've never been, you won't want to miss out on this 90-minute extravaganza of "living pictures" that has won recognition as the best presentation of its kind. There are a limited number of tickets available for our group, so please register and send your checks in ASAP. Please visit our homepage for more event information.

Be sure to check our homepage regularly for event updates and if you've recently moved or are moving to the Los Angeles/Orange County area, please make sure you update your e-mail and profile information online with Kellogg so you receive all of our e-mail announcements.

The Kellogg Alumni Club of Los Angeles looks forward to an eventful second half of the year and hopes you can join us!
