Dennis
McSweeney recently
joined Gallagher Benefit Services Inc. as area vice president
of client management. Gallagher Benefit Services is the employee-benefits
unit of Arthur J. Gallagher, and Dennis will be selling employee-benefits
services to companies in northern Illinois.
Steve
Johnson founded a
Web-based software company, iAbida, that provides communication
management for kids with autism or other problems. The effort
is currently in beta-test mode and looking for users who can
provide feedback and suggestions. Steve has been living on
an island in Maine for the past eight years and gets to Hong
Kong and China occasionally on business.
Dan
Sullivan recently opened
a coffee shop called Charmers Cafe in a Rogers Park building
his great-grandfather built in 1915. Charmers features coffee
roasted by local roasters called Metropolis and features the
Greek/art deco artwork from an old neighborhood bar. Dan also
opened a sandwich shop next door to Charmers called the Dagel
and Beli Shop. Everyone within traveling distance is invited
to come by for a great cup of coffee and a bagel. Finally,
LAMS Real Estate Management, a company Dan began in 2003 was
recently awarded the 2006 Community Partner Award by DevCorp
North, the chamber of commerce in Rogers Park.
Carolina
Roig and her family
are leaving the heat and hurricanes of Miami and happily relocating
to Atlanta this summer. Carolina will continue her work as
senior manager of ethnic advertising for BellSouth, based
in Atlanta.
