EMP-52
goes international!
Since graduation in December 2002, several classmates
have taken their Kellogg experience and steered their careers
toAsia, Europe and beyond. For those of us who spend most
of our time in the United States, the team-building spirit
we acquired at Kellogg remains strong (and sort of global)
with occasional happy hours (including one at the Peninsula
Hotel in Chicago), monthly team dinners and our annual event
at The Cooking & Hospitality Institute of Chicago, which
has Paris connections. That's global, right?
In February, a group of EMP-52 classmates enjoyed
an instructive and fun culinary experience at the Cooking
& Hospitality Institute. This was our second annual event.
CHIC, which is one of the 87 global campuses of Career Education
Corp., is affiliated with Le Cordon Bleu of Paris, the world's
most famous culinary education program. Matt Kinnich,
vice president of strategic planning and development at Career
Ed, coordinated the event.
Shyam
Kambeyanda is still located in Shanghai and is now responsible
for Eaton Automotive for the entire region. "I must say
we like it a lot out here," Shyam reports.
Richard
Yang has accepted a position in Hong Kong with Experian,
a global information solutions company. Experian helps organizations
use information to reach new customers and to build, nurture
and maximize lasting customer relationships. It is also the
world's largest provider of consumer and commercial information.
As vice president of product management and key initiatives,
Richard will be responsible for product and corporate strategy,
M&A activity, planning and corporate development. Headquartered
in Hong Kong, Richard oversees the Asia-Pacific region with
offices in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Singapore
and Malaysia.
John
Jimenez, chief financial officer for AirBP, was recently
promoted to corporate controller. John and his family relocated
to BP's global headquarters in London last winter as part
of a three-year assignment.
Mary
Olson has been appointed to the newly created position
of managing director of executive search and strategy at Tribune
Co. In her new role, Mary will be responsible for working
with executive management across the company on recruitment
of top executives, with a special focus on publishing and
interactive sales talent and initiatives. Since 2003, Mary
has been in advertising and sales for WGN-TV. Prior to working
at WGN, she spent four years with Tribune corporate as director
of the national recruitment group; she was also involved in
the merger with Tribune and the Times Mirror organization.
Before joining Tribune, Mary worked as a national recruiting
manager in the high-tech industry. Mary's years of experience
in both recruitment and sales will be a great asset in supporting
Tribune's executive recruitment and sales growth strategies.
Stefanie
Cavallo is starting
a new position as vice president of industry development at
AMR Research in Boston.
Congratulations
to everyone on your new endeavors and adventures!
