EMP-46

At graduation, we recognized that our futures were bright and that the sky was the limit for what we might achieve. In this class update, this prediction has been confirmed by Darlene Ziebell who received her private pilot certificate in single-engine land. She is now working on instrument rating and checking out new planes! She joins Sam Iyer as a high flyer in our class.

In other news, Alan Burack is putting into practice the skills he learned working with Laurie Pearlman, Sam Iyer, Bob Kagan and I as the manager of physician relations and marketing at Advocate Health Care in Park Ridge, Ill.

John Giuliani has assumed a new position as chairman and CEO of Dotomi Inc. in Boston. In John's words from the press release: "Dotomi has created a powerful way to reach customers and prospects with customized, relevant Web messaging. I am looking forward to working with the Dotomi team."

We can't wait to ask him about the private jet he must have because he is continuing to reside in Chicago. The Virtual Social Committee of EMP-46 is happy to give recognition to our first virtual CEO.

Daryl Gormley has landed in Naperville, Ill., and is settled into his new role at Sara Lee Foods as vice president of foodservice transformation.

Ro Kumar continues in his post-walk-about transformation. He is now a "media guy" at the Sun-Times News Group, where he is the chief information officer.

Abe Orbach's daughters continue to soar in their educational and personal endeavors.

Elias Sfeir has been promoted to Los Angeles strategy and marketing director at his current company, Radio Frequency System.

David Susalla continues to fly up the ranks at Control Solutions International. He was promoted to national director of assurance services, leading their quality assessment/validation practice.

Not everyone in the class is busy flying; others are walking for important causes this summer.

Ann Kloth is busy training for the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Three-Day in Minnesota.

Paul Herring's wife Tracy will be hiking the Grand Canyon to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

That is it for now. We hope that your professional and personal voyages this summer are spectacular!
