EMP-29
Greetings
one and all. I'll apologize up front about not attempting
to solicit updates from any of you for this issue of Class
Notes. I was planning a birthday party for my two sons, 7
and 3, with all 33 of my in-laws, some number of my son's
classmates and a few good friends. My husband won use of the
school's gymnasium at a recent fundraiser, which was a rather
wonderful thing, as we have a small home and all 33 of
my in-laws were to be in town and in attendance. (Yes,
I married into an Irish Catholic family, and yes, I remain
a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of names and birthdays
I must remember each year.) In any event, I lost my ability
to think beyond the number of juice boxes and martinis we'd
be serving and forgot all about the deadline for this issue
of the magazine.
Fortunately
for all of us, Chuck Weinles contacted me and suggested
we try to muster together a mini-reunion one day this fall.
I think is an excellent idea, given the wonderful time had
by all at the 10-year reunion in 2004. We're thinking of a
night of dinner, possibly dancing, either at the James L.
Allen Center or at a nearby restaurant, sometime in October
or November. If, like Chuck and me, you're interested in spending
another evening together with the 70-some individuals you
spent two years of your life with, please send me a note to
confirm. Offers to assist or take over planning the event
will be appreciated and immediately accepted. We'll keep everyone
posted via e-mail as the event shapes up.
