The GIM Vietnam "Coffee Crew" (Mark Treiber, Rob Cross, Jon Ingram, Chris Winnen, Mike Haberkorn and Kai Sakstrup — all '04) held their second annual reunion. Rather than crashing on Habby's couches in New York City again, they headed to Park City, Utah, and spent far too much time waxing poetically about the leadership in crisis skills they picked up from JoMo. On a positive note, there was far less fanfare the morning after the Pajammy Jam this year. |

2004
Ahoy,
mates! This season, we finally have more classmates willing
to talk about themselves! Now that the weather's warm again,
we expect a lot of excitement and adventure over the summer
(as in lots of interesting insights for the fall edition)
but in the meantime, here goes our latest wrap-up of our insider
edition.
Michael
Aingorn, Vladimir "Dado" Bosonac, Patrick De Baecque,
and Ricardo Soto are co-captains for the newly formed Kellogg Alumni
Sailing Club. Events feature recreational and competitive
sailing events around the world, including frequent sailing
events in their respective cities of New York, San Francisco,
Paris and Barcelona. The crew notes: "Joining the team
is easy, just visit: kelloggalumni.northwestern.edu/Affinity/sailing. Don't get left behind on the dock." And Ricardo
adds that they are currently organizing a team to compete
in the SDA Bocconi Sailing Club MBA Regatta in Portofino,
Italy, Sept. 21 through 24. Please e-mail for him for details.
Stephanie
Feldman married Elias Gutt in Boca Raton, Fla. The outdoor
ceremony was followed by a reception complete with —
what else, it's Florida — a 20-piece live Latin band.
Kellogg classmates in attendance included Juliana Sztrajtman,
Ana Aguilar, Ginger Agregado, Costanza Gallo,
Jim McIntyre '03, Sandrine Murcia, Aparna Saha,
Maren Lau, Alfredo Botty and Niv Carmi.
On
the international front, Paul Gregory writes: "I
recently got together with several Kellogg alumni for dinner
in Kyiv, Ukraine. Oksana Strashna '96 and I played host to
Alina Arsenieva and her husband, Vadim; Elena Kharlamova
'05; and Igor Vynarchuk '05 and his wife Yana. Alina and Elena
flew in from Moscow for the weekend, while Igor and Yana were
back in town visiting family and friends for the holidays.
It was Elena's first trip to Kyiv, and she was very impressed
with the Ukrainian capital. Alina is in Moscow with GE, still
working on integrating GE's recent acquisition of Delta Bank,
a large Russian bank. Elena is enjoying her job at Morgan
Hunt, an executive recruiting company, and is excited about
the prospects of getting into executive coaching and development.
Igor is consulting in Cleveland for McKenzie. Oksana continues
to work for Western NIS, a leading private equity group in
Ukraine, and was recently promoted to vice president. I am
still in the M&A department at Interpipe, a leading Ukrainian
conglomerate."
Muchas
gracias to Peggy Mathias for rallying her troops
for the following insider news. In addition, she writes: "I
am living in downtown Philadelphia, enjoying brand management
and working on Splenda. Anyone who passes through should definitely
give me a call!"
Brian
Kopp has recently
added to his brood and welcomed twins Kevin James and Bridget
Lois on March 29. Big brother Patrick (who was a guest star
at some marketing team meetings) is loving his new role as
big brother.
Kate
Farrell Stanford writes: "So after two years as the
classifieds strategic planning manager at The Philadelphia
Inquirer and Daily News, I'm moving on. I joined
Google in May to head up marketing strategy for its classifieds
vertical. It seems like a natural evolution after my experience
in newspaper classifieds, as classified advertising is increasingly
moving online. It's also a good time to move, as I've just
completed the major marketing and operational hurdle of launching
The Inquirer's first standalone classified section
in years. If anyone's passing through Philly and picks up
The Inquirer, let me know what you think of our new
"Marketplace" section! I'm excited to be joining
Google and the chance to work with other Kellogg '04 folks
like Lisa Duncan and Sandrine Murcia. I'll be
working out of the New York City office (which means more
opportunities to get together with the Kellogg crew in NYC),
but will continue to live in Philadelphia, since my husband
James will be starting at Wharton in the fall.
Carrie
Cimmet and Scott Mitchell were married Oct. 23 in Washington,
D.C. Kellogg classmates Mark Buckley, Megan Elfers,
Kim Folk, Peggy Mathias and Kim Milstein
attended the wedding and helped celebrate Kellogg-style. Carrie
works at AOL as a program director in the digital services
organization.
Jon
Conta writes: "A recent promotion has brought us
from The Land of Big Hair to The South, and Allison and I
are now making our home in the Dunwoody area of Atlanta. We'd
love to hear from you, so come on down and visit us."
Jamee
Field notes that she
has been traveling the world and enjoying her "retirement"
and shares the news that:
Mara
Holian married Adam Lowry in August and they live in San
Francisco. She also took a new job at Dreyers that she likes
a lot.
Andy
Sofield is in Mumbai for work and looking for friends
to visit him over there.
Heather
Ptacek took a new job at Quaker Oats and loves it.
Kristen
Mitchell is now working for Avon and living with Anne
Smart and Brigid Ganley in New York City.
Jim
Steckart writes: "On May 12-15, a bunch of guys from
my first KOA had a mini-KOA reunion and spent couple days
hiking in Zion National Park. Attendees included Christy and
Matt Murray, Bobby Sheikh and Maryam Ahmad,
Kamber '06 and Jon Briones, Brendan Sheehan
(and girlfriend Christine), Sam Heyworth, Jim Steckart
and John Hermanek.
Krzysztof
Rzymski's family welcomed Sofia Maria Rzymski on Feb.
17, on which day she weighed 6 lbs., 10 oz. Mother and daughter
are doing great in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Kristin
Stanton has a "really
bizarre" story to share: "I entered a Bubblicious
LeBron James Shot Challenge raffle at a street festival in
Chicago, and I won an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City
to shoot some hoops with LeBron. The event was held at Basketball
City, and I had to compete against 20 other contestants. Christian
Walters '05 went with me and helped me practice. I really
hadn't touched a basketball since high school, and I was kind
of embarrassed to even be in this event. After a foul shot,
a right corner shot, a left corner shot and a jump shot, I
actually won the whole thing and walked away with $1,000 and
an autographed basketball. LeBron was a really friendly celebrity,
but I'm still waiting to see how I can be Bubblicious' new
spokesperson!"
