Alumni Club of Benelux
The Kellogg Alumni Club of Benelux gave a warm welcome to Dean Jain last spring.

Belgium was pretty much the center of the world for Kellogg in March, with Dean Emeritus Jacobs leading his GIM trip contingent and Dean Jain speaking on management, marketing and entrepreneurship at Flanders Business School. Dean Jacobs was on his annual GIM sojourn, flanked by 20 students interested in business in the EU. They met a small group of alumni for an informal dinner at Café de Bruxelles on the Grand Place on March 15. They were flush with the excitement of a private audience with Neelie Kroes, the competition commissioner, who rarely gives audiences to her Brussels constituencies, let alone traveling student groups.

On May 3, we held a reception at Hotel Metropole with Kellogg EMBA partner school WHU. Some 25 Kellogg alumni, business leaders and prospective candidates came to hear Professor Witt share his insights on a topic currently very much debated in boardrooms: "Corporate Governance in Europe–Recent Developments" and, of course, to learn more about the Kellogg International Executive MBA Program at WHU.

On May 10, alumni in the Netherlands joined Dean Jain and Professor Carpenter for an Indonesian dinner in Amsterdam. In addition to sampling the local rijsttafel, Dean Jain spoke with alums about his global strategy for Kellogg.

Finally, make sure your contact details are updated on the Kellogg Web site so you can be informed about all our activities, and bookmark the club Web page, kelloggalumni.northwestern.edu/clubs/benelux/, to check for latest event information, pictures of past events, career counseling and a selection of the best restaurants in Brussels.

Best, Philippe Laval
