TMP 2000

Hello TMP Class of 2000! Thanks for the updates this quarter. Please keep them coming as the summer begins — I am sure you've all been very busy!

If you enjoy reading these updates and don't receive a quarterly reminder from yours truly about submitting Class Notes, perhaps you need to set up your alumni email forwarding address. To do this, go to alumni.kellogg.northwestern.edu. While you are there, be sure to sign up for the TMP Class of 2000 listserv. On with the updates!

Scott Pape TMP '00 and his family, which now includes wife Janine, son John and newborn Maria Janine

Scott Pape (of GIM China 1999 fame) writes: "We are doing well, still living in Kosice, Slovakia, and in VP-operations role for US Steel Europe. Job is going well, and steel business continues to consolidate and strengthen its collective balance sheet while balancing the immense capital requirements of our industry. Our son John turned 3 on May 2, and Janine, John and I welcomed Maria Janine to our family on May 3. She weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces, at birth, and is 9 1/2 pounds at two weeks. Maria is a happy, hungry little girl, but Mom and baby are doing great. Other than the family addition and work, we have spent our time traveling in Europe. Highlights include Barcelona, Vienna, Milan and the lakes region of Italy, Budapest, Prague, Krakow, Paris and London. My friend Steve and I spent a great wine-tasting weekend in Italy's Barolo region last fall and highly recommend Marcarini Brunate Barolo — any late 90s vintage or the 2000 vintage. Also have taken a couple trips hiking the Tatry mountains on the Slovak-Polish border, which are spectacular. A little later tonight, I am welcoming my first Kellogg visitor, fellow TMP-er and GIM China 1999 traveler Michael Streicher and his wife Olga, to Kosice for a plant tour and a dinner. It is possible to get here! Anyone else in the region is welcome to stop in for a visit." Reach Scott at +421.904.704.644 or SCPape@sk.uss.com. Thanks for the update, Scott! It's great to hear from you.

Let's keep our class networked by submitting lots of great updates for the fall edition!
