TMP 1995

Due to an editorial oversight, the TMP 1995 updates were inadvertently omitted from the spring issue of Kellogg World. All of the news missed last time has been included in this issue. We regret the error.

Thanks to everyone who helped keep the momentum going. Clearly the TMP Class of '95 is a busy group. For those of you who were too busy to write, we'll look forward to hearing from you next time.

Bill Chamberlin has worked for IBM since his TMP days, and in marketing strategy or research roles since 1995. He has spent the last two years on the corporate marketing strategy and brand management team, leading an effort to analyze future trends and opportunities for IBM. Bill lives in Palatine, Ill., with his wife, daughters Sara (10) and Allison (8), and new puppy Jett (8 months).

Leslie Franklin and husband William were married in 1999 and now live in New Jersey. She is working at Sony Electronics as a marketing manager in the professional media division. Prior to joining Sony about two years ago, she was a product manager at Lucent Technologies in both Illinois and New Jersey.

Erin Kaese and her husband moved to San Diego in 2002, where she reports life seems like a world away from trading interest-rate derivatives in Chicago. Since moving, they started a publishing company called SoCal Publishing. Their first release, The Athletic-Minded Traveler: Where to Work Out and Stay When Fitness is a Priority, has been earning rave reviews from Newsweek, Men's Health, Adventure Sports and others.

Carl Larson is approaching his 10-year anniversary with Oracle, where they recently went through not one, but two corporate mergers/acquisitions. (As most of you know, Oracle recently acquired PeopleSoft.) Based in Chicago, he is currently area vice president, responsible for overseeing the license operations across the central United States and Canada. His wife, Jennifer Bulin Larson, is a landscape architect who has run her own successful company based in Chicago for the past eight years. Her firm, Hayden Bulin Larson, proactively merged with an architecture firm by the name of DLK Associates, where she remains on the board and is an equity partner. The merger enables her to spend more quality time with their children, Margaret Ann "Maggie" (6) and John Kenyon "Jack" (2).

Patrick Lederer says life is going great. He bought the house he grew up in from his parents and now lives there with his wife of 12 years and two children, Dylan (8) and Lily (3 1/2). He is still making a living as an industrial real estate broker and developer with Korman/Lederer & Associates LLC. Inducted into the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, he is also vice president of the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers and a founding board member of the Porchlight Theater, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

Guy Logan lives in Edina, Minn., with his wife of 10 years, Suzanne, and three children, Julianne (5), Andrew (3), and Laura (new baby). In addition to being involved with Logan Consulting, Cornerstone Solutions, Advantage Builders and LLT Global Solutions, when time permits he is also spending time with Edina Morningside Rotary and playing a fair amount of hockey and other sports to stay in shape.

Tom Pohlmann is vice president and research director at Forrester Research. He works out of his home in Beavercreek, Ohio, where he shares his "office space" with wife Marianne and their four children, John, Henrik, Josef and Anamarie.

Patrick Quarles resides in Houston, Texas, after a three-year, post-graduation detour through Philadelphia. Married to Maryellen a scant four months after graduation, they now have two children, Will (5) and Clare (3). While he was bucking for a European assignment, Patrick was recently promoted to vice president for Lyondell Chemical's Performance Chemicals. The job will have him traveling globally and he looks forward to connecting with various Kellogg clubs. They miss Chicago terribly and keep promising to visit soon — perhaps Reunion will get them back to town.

Mark Watzke has been with BP (or Amoco) essentially since 1986. In Anchorage, Alaska, for the past three and half years, he is currently a senior financial adviser with BP Exploration Alaska, a key "business unit" in BP's upstream segment. His wife, Molly, works part time as the primary local sales rep for Tastefully Simple (packaged gourmet foods). Life is busy with four daughters ages 6, 9, 13 and 15, and they find their "free time" consumed with girls basketball and soccer, church, etc. Mark coaches basketball and Molly is heavily involved in PTA and soccer club administration.

Bill Werst and family have moved to Boeblingen, Germany (just outside Stuttgart), where he manages Hewlett-Packard's All-in-One consumer printer business for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Bill, his wife Julie and their three children Katarina (9), William (7), and Michael (4) are taking advantage of their new home and exploring Germany and surrounding countries.

Jerry Lynch, wife Annette (a free-lance musician and teacher) and two children (ages 12 and 6), are currently living in Lausanne, Switzerland. After 11 years with General Mills, he is currently marketing director for General Mills Europe, based in Nyon, Switzerland. He reports European life is great, and when he is not being chased by the kids, he is loving golf and international travel.

Joe Meyer is director of the venture office worldwide for Roche Diagnostics, based in Indianapolis. Since finishing Kellogg, he and his wife have had four children (now ages 7 through 1) and been incredibly busy with "life." Before Roche, Joe spent time working for three technology companies. He reports that Kellogg's marketing and entrepreneurship classes continue to serve him well.
