Professor
Jeanne Brett's daylong seminar in March was a huge hit with
the South Florida business community. Her highly interactive
workshop on cross-cultural negotiations drew 42 participants,
including 10 Kellogg alums. The elegant venue in Key Biscayne,
arranged by Claudine Coto '03, also played a huge part in
attendee satisfaction.
Derek Ernst '02, Sergio Goloubeff '95 and Willy Kotas '86
bicycled from Miami to Key Largo on "Team Northwestern," an
alumni quartet who raised more than $2,500 for multiple sclerosis
research. Team members wore official purple uniforms they
purchased from the Northwestern cycling team. These 150-mile
weekend rides are held throughout the United States, and are
a great way to demonstrate a club's community involvement
and support a good cause. Thanks to all who supported us!
The Kellogg Alumni Club of South Florida will attend a Cubs-Marlins
game en masse on Sept. 5 at Pro Player Stadium. This will
be a joint event with the Northwestern club and will include
a pre-game tailgate party. The club has reserved a block of
seats and will try to segregate the Marlins and Cubs fans
amongst us. For details, check out the club Web page or call
Willy Kotas.

Aside
from our individual club activities, we cross-promote events
with the MBA Federation of South Florida. An updated calendar
of interesting events is online at www.mfsf.org.
Finally, congratulations to Dean Jain and the Kellogg administration
for their decision to launch an executive MBA program in Miami
next year. As the program's focus will be Latin America, we
also feel compelled to say felicidades and parabèns.
