2002
Winter
and spring continued to bring new Kellogg Kids. Wow, what
gorgeous babies (and we have unbiased opinions)!
Nancy
Kulick and her husband Andy had a little girl, Elizabeth,
in October. They moved from Seattle to Wilmette on June 2.

5 weeks |

Brian
and Michelle Martin welcomed Ella Sophia Martin on
March 12, weighing 7 pounds, 1 ounce and measuring 19.25 inches.
The entire family is happy and well.
Mike
Castellarin and wife Merriane welcomed baby Rachel Elizabeth
Marie on March 18. Rachel weighed 8 pounds at birth. The ecstatic
parents were pleasantly surprised by the addition of a girl
(they were expecting a boy)!
Ricardo
Angel's email message brimmed with the excitement of a
proud new dad. He and Maria had a baby girl named Daniela
on April 8. Daniela weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 18
1/2 inches in length. Both Maria and Daniela are doing great.
Neal
Freeland and wife Julia welcomed Zack Ryan Freeland to
the world on Valentine's Day. (Lucky kid was born a romantic!
And, given that Zach is the only baby boy to be reported in
this issue for the Class of 2002, it seems the odds are already
in his favor.) Zack was 18.25 inches and 6 pounds, 2.6 ounces.
Neal and Julia are doing great, but not sleeping too much!
Neal says that it feels like he has already been at Microsoft
forever. Time flies post-Kellogg.
Love was also in the air with many engagements (on which we
will provide details when the weddings occur) and weddings
alike:
Federico
Chab married Luciana Versiglia on March 20 in Buenos Aires,
Argentina.
Michael
Schreiber and Lisa Cashion tied the knot on April 24 in
Chicago at the famed Rookery Building. Michael and Lisa will
reside in New York City, where Mike will be working for NBC
(CNBC's international division) and Lisa will continue her
work as the director of public policy for Prevent Child Abuse
America. Michael looks forward to hearing from other Kellogg
alums who are in the New York area.
Kevin
Stineman and Margie Block '03 married on May 8 in Chicago.
Approximately 40 fellow Kelloggians turned out to celebrate
with them. Kevin and Margie spent two weeks in Botswana and
Namibia on their honeymoon.
Another great Kellogg romance started a new chapter with Chat
Rivera and Amar Shah's nuptials in August AND December.
Chat and Amar write: "We got married not once, but twice ---
the first time on Aug. 30 in West Lafayette, Ind., and the
second time on Dec. 15 in Manila, Philippines. The August
wedding was a traditional Indian ceremony with many Kellogg
alumni in attendance, including Josh Holmstrom (best
man), John Thee, Tanya and Rich Saad, Brian
and Romy (Newman) Trahan, Astrid Marechal, Colleen
Sellers, Katie Weaver, David DeLorenzo,
Deepa and Hiren Thakar, Arnaud and Vicki Vasseur,
Amy Walter, Craig and Teresa Moye, Dave Wolbert,
Joanna Wong '01, Kedar Nadkarni and Maya and Karthik
Vasudevan. The December wedding was a traditional Catholic
ceremony in a 16th-century church in tropical Manila. Josh
had the distinction of being the only Kellogg alum at both
weddings. Bryan Wahking (best man) flew in from Singapore
with his wife Veronica and their extremely cute baby, Audrey."
This winter and spring our fellow classmates were quite busy
changing jobs!

Angela
Teng '02 with the CEO of American Express, Ken Chenault |
|
|
|
Correction
from the spring 2004 edition: Angela Teng left
Banc of America Securities to join American Express. Angela
also recently won the grand prize of "CEO for a Day" at American
Express through the company's employee giving campaign raffle.
Angela says that spending the day with the CEO was an "amazing"
experience. We will not be surprised if next issue finds us
reporting that Angela IS the CEO. Go, Angela!
In January, Stephanie Nassau moved back to New York
from Singapore, where she managed several luxury fashion brands.
After traveling for a while, Stephanie joined Revlon and now
works as an assistant product manager in Revlon's lip group.
She is excited to be home and looks forward to catching up
with classmates at KACNY events.
Tobi
Laczkowski wrote "Growing Sales and Profits in a Flat
Market," published in the March/April 2004 issue of MX
Magazine. MX is a publication for top-level executives
in the medical technologies field. Tobi is currently working
as a consultant for ZS Associates in Evanston.
Raul
Saavedra has great job news as well: "With the help of
classmate Brooke Stabbert, I landed a job with Lucasfilm
in San Francisco. My wife Jennifer and I have been here for
a year and half now and are having a great time."
Natalie
Guenther recently began a new position in business development
with Invenergy, an energy-development company based in Chicago.
Beata
Kirr and Erich Kirr '01 both changed jobs in May. Erich
has joined Intecap, a consulting firm specializing in economic
and intellectual property consulting, as an associate. Beata
joined Harris Alternatives, a fund of hedge funds, in its
business development group.
Eric
Limbs writes that he is now working at the Seattle Monorail
Project and is enjoying his time in Seattle. He is relatively
new to the area, so he would love to hear from fellow Kelloggians
living or visiting there.
Becky
(Evans) Grimm and her husband Brian moved to Boston in
May. Becky started a new position with Gillette as an associate
product manager for the company's new whitening segment in
the oral care group. She says that, although they'll certainly
miss their Chicago-based Kellogg friends, they're looking
forward to a fun summer of outings to Fenway Park and the
Cape.
Subir
Basak writes: "I have been in product management at Amgen
the past two years and have really enjoyed this incredible
experience. I recently took a new role in global operations
working on commercialization of our pipeline. This position
offers me a great learning opportunity about clinical, marketing
and operational issues to advance early-stage products."
Tony
Uzan writes that he is currently living in Stamford, Conn.,
with his girlfriend Teresa, working for a small consulting
firm and enjoying the East Coast.
Alyssa
Bagchi has started a new position with UBS as associate
director in its hedge fund capital introduction group.

Now,
for the entertainment portion of this program: Imagine this,
if you can ... Ronnie Frankowski bald? Ronnie and classmate
Dave Wolbert shaved their domes as part of a Mattel-sponsored
team that raised money for small children with cancer. The
event is called St. Baldricks, and benefits the Cure Search,
National Childhood Cancer Foundation. Although arguably more
of a stretch for Dave, both deserve credit for this commendable
act.
Thank you to everyone who submitted updates (about themselves
AND others)! We look forward to getting more great information
for the next issue. Happy summer to all! |
