Scott
Snyder sent this email about his new position at a division
of Johnson & Johnson: "The job is with a small, fast-growing
company that competes in cellular therapy. Think biotech,
and you're pretty close. The company has developed a novel
technology to treat autoimmune diseases, organ transplant
rejection and certain cancers where the immune system needs
to be altered. They found a way to adjust the body's sometimes
overactive immune response to its own tissues by using a combination
of drugs and ultraviolet light, which is applied to a patient's
white blood cells via a special machine. It is sometimes the
only way to save the lives of certain patients who don't respond
to standard treatments like steroids or immunosupressant drugs.
Consumer package goods marketing it's not, but it's change-the-world
stuff, with significant growth potential. I'll be vice president
of worldwide marketing, which includes the United States and
Europe, with emerging markets waiting to be tapped."
Mark
Dancer, vice president and principal at Pembroke Consulting,
will drive business development and direct local operations
at the firm's new office in Northbrook, Ill.
