Carol
Farquhar writes that she is engaged to a wonderful guy,
but they have to decide whether to get married on top of a
mountain, on a beach or in a church before they can proceed
with the ceremony. In addition to making wedding plans, she
is mom to her two kids, Chrissy, 12, and Brian, 9. Carol also
is working full time with Greenfield Consulting Group, where
she has been for the past six years, and enjoying her house
on the water in Darien, Conn. Sounds like a pretty busy life!
Carol can be reached at cfarquhar@greenfieldgroup.com,
and would be delighted to hear from fellow classmates.
Larry
Silberman reports that he is now EVP of corporate and
national real estate for Oak Brook Bank, a Chicago-based institution
with $2 billion in assets and 18 branches. This is the ninth
financial institution Larry has joined since Kellogg. He's
very excited about it because it allows him to work on broader
issues regarding the enterprise and its growth.
Larry has also just completed his first year as a city councilman,
an elected position in Highland Park, Ill. The campaign lasted
five months and involved fund raising, yard signs, walking
the neighborhoods and shaking hands at the train stations.
It was a great deal of fun for Larry, and he is truly enjoying
the experience. This comes on the heels of two four-year terms
as a plan commissioner, which prepared him well for his new
position. Larry has been working with the historic preservation
commission, traffic commission and cultural arts commission,
in addition to assignments with the finance committee and
public safety committee. He just wishes he had taken a couple
more courses with Professor Haider!
On the family front, Larry's eldest has just completed his
first year at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and his youngest
is a licensed driver just finishing his sophomore year in
high school. His wife has earned two master's degrees, the
second in education, and is now teaching kindergarten in the
HighlandPark public schools. Reach Larry at lds1091@aol.com.
Tom
Williamson wrote that he was (re)married in December to
a wonderful woman, Kim, a private pilot who works for a marketing
communications agency. Tom is still a partner with Deloitte
Consulting in Chicago, working in reorganizations, M&A
and cost reduction areas. Tom reports that he's had a couple
of informal class reunions, including attending a NU football
game with Kevin Murnane, Don and Susan Ullman,
Geoff Dorflinger, Paul Martland, Beth
and Dan Bohn, Julie (Nagel) Henessy, Karen
Dahl and others. Tom has also seen Deb Henken on
her various jaunts through Chicago for Kellogg events.
