Darryl
Branch was transferred from general manager of customer
service at Avon Products in Pasadena to the same post in Atlanta.
Darryl reports that Study Group "A" got together
at Lawry's Prime Rib in Chicago to celebrate the promotions
of three members into the executive ranks. John Carusiello
is a vice president at Perma Pipe, Jim Moran is
a vice president at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and Jerry
Gerami is a vice president at MCI Worldcomm. Darryl hastens
to add that he paid for the dinner.
Larry
Brand reports that he trained his son how to auction a
$10 bill for $15 in his English class, but the teacher thought
it was a bad idea. Mike Shelton once raised money for
his children's preschool by offering $20 to each member if
they could raise a certain sum; hundreds of dollars were raised
without costing Mike a cent. Mike and Larry are available
for consulting.
Kevin
Garton sends the following report: After graduation, I
accepted a position with MicroStrategy, the much maligned
software firm, and moved to the Washington, D.C., area. My
wife, Sheryl and I also celebrated the birth of our second
child, Hallie, who is now two years old. Last November, after
two-and-a-half tumultuous years at MicroStrategy, I joined
a private firm called comScore Networks as their vice president
of marketing. comScore is a Web-based consumer behavior company
engaged in measuring the affect of the Web on online and offline
transactions. My contact information is kgarton@ comscore.com,
703.307.2980. We have received updated contact information
and greetings from Erik Christensen, Tim Timmons,
David Mecklenberger, Mike Shelton, Ernest
Lucineo, and Ed Ogata.
