EMP-35

Bob Kalchik writes that he has not spoken to many of his EMP-35 classmates in a while and he hopes everyone is doing well. You may remember, in our most recent Kellogg World magazine (the winter issue), Terry Janeway mentioned that when he and Bob played a little golf last summer, Terry took a few bucks from Bob. Bob apparently, objects to Terry editorializing history and writes "for the record that Terry was the one keeping the scorecard" and Bob was not afforded the luxury to audit the card afterwards. Bob promises that the next time they play, he will know better. Bob also says that Terry failed to mention that they were playing on one of Terry's "home courses" which of course, he is very familiar with and that Bob had to play blindfolded to even their handicaps!

Bob does have a personal and family update for EMP-35. Bob and his family have "unfortunately left the Chicago area (couldn't find a winning sports team anymore) and moved to the Washington, D.C., area with Marriott International." He was formally the vice president of finance and accounting for Marriott's Midwest Region and now Bob has taken on a similar role for North America. He is based out of their headquarters building in Bethesda. They moved into their new house over Christmas after commuting to and from Chicago for six months. They are just getting acclimated to the area and are still searching for a winning sports team! "At least the Wizards were one place better than the Bulls in the final NBA standings and secured the first pick in the draft." Bob sends his very best wishes to everyone.

John Fumagalli writes with some good news. In June, his family (wife Sara and two children, Jack and Lucie) relocated to the St. Louis area. John has accepted a position with The Northern Trust to become president and CEO of Northern Trust, Missouri. John hopes all is well with everyone in EMP-35.

Greg Brown says "Hello to all my EMP-35 buddies." Greg tells us that he really wishes he could join the group for adult beverages, intellectual conversation and cigar smoking. Since Greg is living in Cincinnati, he invites his EMP-35 classmates "to look him up if you are ever passing through, perhaps we can catch a civil disturbance together. Cigar smoking has been replaced by dumpster burning as a form of relaxation." Greg was always more partial to cigars!

Roneida Martin asks three questions of EMP-35 "How are you?" and "Does anyone have any news about new additions to their families? More specifically "Who has had a baby since June of 1997?" Roneida's directive, "Let all of EMP-35 know! I want to see baby pictures in the next edition of Kellogg World." Send your news and photos to me, or report to Roneida directly. She says, "Nothing new in the Martin world. Enjoying life."

Ed Magoon says hello to everyone! He regrets that he has nothing new to report but enjoys reading about his classmates. Ed says that "fortunately for me, my family is healthy and we are all keeping up with home. work and business commitments." Ed sends his best wishes to all.
