1994
I hope
everyone is enjoying summer. I'm a bit short of news this
time, but my thanks to those who sent me notes. I encourage
more of you to do the same.
Eric
Harris wrote
to say that he is still with Merrill Lynch as a director in
the investment banking group in New York. He is currently
working on internal strategy in the office of the chairman.
He attended this year's Kellogg BMA conference and was looking
forward to meeting with fellow classmates Spurgeon
Robinson, William Lampley and Gerald Wolff among
others.
Chris
Jogis sent
in a nice long update. In Chris' words (slightly modified),
"Amy and I are enjoying living in Larchmont, N.Y. but
our big news is that we welcomed a new addition to our family.
Our daughter Kimberly Ann was born Feb. 22. We're totally
excited about being new parents! Everything is going fine,
although she had colic which made the first few months difficult
with very little sleeping and much crying. Thankfully things
have calmed down. Amy has decided to stay home with Kimberly
for the next few years, giving up her job at JP Morgan/Chase,
which will be a big change in lifestyle for us. Professionally,
I moved from NFL Properties to Pepsi about a year-and-a-half
ago to develop marketing programs around Pepsi's Major League
Baseball and Major League Soccer sponsorships. I'm now moving
to a new marketing role, outside of sports marketing for the
first time, working on new product development. It's a great
opportunity for me to broaden my marketing knowledge. We'll
see how it goes. All in all, a lot of change, all of which
we feel very blessed and fortunate about."
Bruce
Angus has
taken the opposite path from Chris and returned to the world
of sports. Bruce recently took a new job with a sports management
firm based in Hartford, Conn. Susie Silver took a new position
with Kraft and is now a senior manager for strategic alliances.
I ran into Mark
Lucas during
a brief visit to Minneapolis and learned that he has left
the world of medical devices for a new job with a real estate
development firm -- a welcome change that requires no travel.
Mark lives with Amy, daughter CC (and bulldog Agatha) in Minneapolis.
Kathleen
Miller and Milt Liu were
married in San Diego on Feb. 3. They celebrated with many
Kellogg friends, including John
Stellato, Jeff Luhnow, Greg and Jessica Coleman, Murray Brozinsky,
Chris Esmonde, Alex Brown, Susie Silver, Susan Kaufman Valtz,
Ned Ward and his wife Noriko '96, David Pope and
Beth Houle '95, Mark Cozzi '92, Chris Myers '92, John LeMay
'93, David Josephs '93, Karen Hohenstein '95, Lucas Liu '96.
Kathleen and Milt took a long honeymoon to Bali and South
Africa and are now settled in Chicago where Milt is with Flying
Foods and Kathleen is exploring new opportunities, out of
the consulting world.
More and
more babies. Matt
Crozier and his wife, Kelly, welcomed their second
daughter, Louisa Gray, March 2. Matt, Kelly, big sister Grace
and Louisa live in Concord, Mass. Dan Evarts, his
wife Tray and daughter Sayle welcomed a new baby brother,
Tyler Stone on Feb. 12. The foursome lives in Cambridge, Mass.
Kate and Mike Schoenle welcomed their third child,
David Michael, on May 11. The Schoenles live in London where
Mike recently completed the London marathon.
I will
end with a bit of a mini-reunion recently taken by myself
and fellow alums Sally
and Scott Pofcher, Lisa and Mike Axelrod, Connie and Jeff
Walsh '93 and Amy Rose and Allen Weinberg.
We met in Captiva Island, Fla., for a week's vacation. With
four children under the age of two, it was more of a family
trip than a vacation, but we were able to squeeze in some
golf, tennis, and pool between naps, snacks and arguments
over toys. It was a great get-together and a lot of fun to
spend time with friends. As soon as we returned, I felt the
need for another vacation.
That is
all for this time. I hope everyone has an enjoyable summer.
If you have time, send me a note and let me (and others) know
what you have been up to.
