Karen
Hemphill (formerly
Ahola, then Derrico) wrote, after a long silence, that her son
Nicholas and she continue to live in Minneapolis. Until recently,
Karen was in the private wealth management business advising
a wealthy Minnesota family, but has decided to remain at home
to concentrate on her new husband and family. Karen has remarried
and in addition to gaining a husband, and two stepdaughters
(ages 8 and 11), they are expecting a child later this year.
So, between remodeling a house and going from one child to four,
work ultimately takes a back seat! Karen reports that she is
thoroughly enjoying herself, however, and doesn't miss "work"
one bit! Good luck, Karen.
Peter
Colgan dropped
a line to say he and his family are doing well. Peter is director
of marketing and sales for MedAptus, Inc. in the Boston area.
"We're chugging along great and it looks like we're extremely
well positioned. Got a great product -- now it's time to sell
it!"
Peter
also dropped a line about Pete
Donlon. Unfortunately,
Pete Donlon was working for a dot-com that went belly up.
Bouncing back on his feet, he has accepted a job in D.C. with
a foreign currency trading company. According to Pete, "It's
a highly profitable company and Išll head up their worldwide
sales and marketing. It will provide me with a chance to go
to London, Prague and Zurich regularly." Good luck, Pete.
Adnan
Rukieh
and his wife, Becky Folds, took advantage of some low airfares
and left Winston-Salem, N.C., for a long weekend in London
right before Christmas. While there they hooked up with
Spiro
Rombotis and had a wonderful time catching up. Spiro is
CEO of a biotech company, Cyclacel, that is developing new
cancer therapies. Adnan is entering his seventh year as head
of his own marketing and strategy consulting firm, The Mercator
Group, Ltd. that focuses on health-care and e-commerce.
