Greetings classmates. Beth Hall Johnson here. After a second move in 15 months, we are living in northern Fairfield County, Conn., about an hour from where I grew up. This is my second year as a full-time mom: I've become "move" and "paint" manager too. This will be my last column in my enjoyable stint as class rep. By the time this is published, I hope all who attended Reunion had a great time.

Steve Odland wrote to say he was named chairman and CEO of AutoZone, Inc., based in Memphis Tenn. Steve's career in marketing has taken him from food manufacturing at Quaker Oats and Sara Lee, to food retailing at Tops' Markets and Ahold, its parent company, to retailing auto parts. Autozone has 3,000 stores across the U.S. Steve and his family are relocating to Memphis from Virginia.

Bonnie Seto and husband Jon Myers '80 sent news of their twin boys, Dryden ("Sonny") and Dayton ("Buddy"), born Dec. 7, 1999. That first year must have something: Bonnie writes that the boys didn't sleep through the night until nine months! They live in northern California where Bonnie returned to school to study early childhood education.

Bambi Cummins wrote to say she had a great year last year with lots of memorable ski trips and the purchase of a house in Stamford, Conn. In addition, her employer, Young and Rubicam, merged with UK-based WPP Group plc, and Bambi got herself kicked upstairs, not out! She is now chief legal counsel of Young & Rubicam Advertising. Congratulations! Based in New York, she travels the country and squeezed in visits to classmates, seeing Meeks Vaughn in San Francisco and Cindy Ross Polayes in Chicago. I also heard from Cindy at the holidays, and she sounds terrific as usual. She works for Nomura Securities and also survived a recent restructuring. She and husband Dave continue to enjoy traveling and went on an amazing trip to Turkey last September. Cindy writes that Liz Riley has retired from Nomura and currently lives in Darien, Conn., after adopting a baby.

Martha Olsen is at Ralph Lauren Intimates and is spending time away from work renovating their home in Darien Conn., and watching her daughter, Megan, grow up. Les Tripp wrote to say he is working at River Ranch Fresh Foods, marketing salads and fresh vegetables. Les is working on making a comeback for Popeye Spinach. He offered to work on a non-Evanston reunion. As always, I'm in touch with Peggy and Pat Lilly. Pat is back at United Airlines, working on the merger with TWA routes. Peggy is still part-time at Kraft bringing Internet and Web expertise to the Kraft sales force.

I have enjoyed hearing the details of classmates lives for the last 10 years. I hope you are equally communicative with the next class rep. Signing off!
