Kellogg Finance Network (KFN)
It was another busy year for the Kellogg Finance Network. Since its launch in June 2015, KFN has established and grown an influential advisory board, led by Jerome Kenney ’67, which has helped to create another roster of respected speakers throughout 2017, including: Dean Sally Blount ’92; Jeff Luhnow ’94, general manager, Houston Astros; Matt Forti ’06, One Acre Fund; former Rep. Barney Frank, D-MA; Rick Waddell ’79, CEO, Northern Trust; and Professors Scott Baker and Michael Fishman. One of KFN’s signature events was the annual CIO Leaders in Alternative Investments Summit held at the New York Athletic Club on Nov. 29, 2017. Partnering with Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Association, the day-long summit attracted world-class investors and thought-leading allocators for a powerful day of networking and high-level discussions of the most critical issues confronting money managers and investment officers. This year’s event will be Nov. 28, 2018, and as in years past, the event will likely be sold out. KFN began 2018 with an all-Kellogg panel discussion about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies featuring KFN Advisory Board member Sunil Hirani ’94, founder, Digital Assets; Jalak Jobanputra ’99, founding partner of Future\Perfect Ventures; and KFN Managing Board member, Kevin Goldstein ’92 of Kee Global Investments. The event was hosted by Advisory Board member Scott Shay ’80, founder and chairman of Signature Bank.
