On January 14, 2015, Dr. June M. McKoy was awarded the 2015 Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award by Northwestern Medicine in a ceremony in Chicago. The award honors those who exemplify Dr. King's ideals of humanitarianism and recognizes colleagues who make extraordinary contributions to the community. Dr. McKoy was honored for her leadership role with the American Cancer Society and Leadership Greater Chicago, as well as her mentorship of underserved students and legal pro bono work.
