George E. Krumrey joined the V-12 Naval Officers' Training program at Northwestern following high school, and then completed a BS in Business Administration. He went on to Waterloo Deere & Co. accounting department and later received a Bachelor of Divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque in 1954. From '54-'91, George was a Lutheran Parish Pastor. Since retirement, George has been volunteering with the neighborhood, the American Red Cross, Lutheran Disaster Response, and has taken six humanitarian mission trips to Central and South America. He was named East Des Moines Citizen of the Year in 2005 by the East and South Des Monies Chamber of Commerce, and is married with two children and five grandchildren.
