Manab Chakraborty continues to explore entrepreneurial opportunities while promoting social enterprises. After setting up his first venture in microfinance in North India, which has served more than 100,000 poor women and still provides high ROE to his venture capital investors, he is now setting up a chain of 50-bed, medium-sized hospitals to address maternal and child health issues in India.

Kym Fortescue left Allianz Global Investors and took up the role of group chief compliance officer at AIA on Jan. 11. Based in Hong Kong, Kym will be leading the AIA Group compliance team and is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the compliance and ethics program for all AIA companies and operations

Maiyo Hood and his wife Pasha could no longer suppress their entrepreneurial spirit and love of good food, so, after a short absence from the Hong Kong food scene, they reopened Al Pasha Restaurant in Tsimshatsui, Hong Kong. Maiyo and Pasha look forward to welcoming all Kellogg friends from around the world to enjoy the authentic taste of traditional Silk Road cuisine and nightly belly dancing whenever they visit Hong Kong.

Witnessed by all his family and friends and, of course, many "comrades" from the KH-06 class, Fred Hung tied the knot with Queenie Ng on Nov. 29.

In the last issue we were informed of the death of Debbie, the wife of Simon Jukes. Following this tragedy, Simon is pleased to report the successful start of charitable efforts to fund a mobile medical unit for an orphanage in Chipata, Zambia. It is expected that this unit will be able to help more than 8,000 people per year, focusing mainly on children and preventable death. As a catalyst for donations, Simon ran the Athens marathon in November and has so far raised more than GBP60k toward a target of GBP100k. He would like to thank those who have been so generous thus far and welcomes any further or repeat support for this cause. More fundraising events are planned for 2010. Further details can be found and donations made easily at justgiving.com/Simon-Jukes/ or by contacting Simon directly at simonjukes@hsbc.com.

Kohli Ardaman Singh and his family left Hong Kong in September to move to Calgary, Canada. While they sorely miss the warm climate of Asia this first winter, his son Karanbir has taken to the new environment nicely and is already fully immersed in all kinds of winter sports!
