Mike and Ines Rodriguez welcomed baby Jacob, weighing in at 5 pounds, 10 ounces and 19.75 inches.

Leivys and Jesus Socorro welcomed baby Andres David Socorro on Jan. 28, coming in at 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches.

Marcello Martins is in charge of business development for Motorola’s Wireless 4G Networks for the Americas region, responsible for generating demand for Motorola’s 4G technology (LTE and WiMAX) to wireless carriers across North and Latin America. And he is still based in cold Chicago.

Jill Hellman was named managing director of new China initiatives for Thayer Lodging Group (1982 grad Lee Pillsbury’s organization). In this role, she will head new joint ventures, establish the domestic operations, and hire managing directors for each. She will be based in Shanghai during this assignment. Jill will continue her role as the chief innovator for The Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship (at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration). This assignment comes on the heels of Jill’s year of worldwide consulting and speaking in places such as Greenland, Iceland, Denmark, Dubai, Bulgaria and Singapore.
