It is with great regret that I report the loss of Ramesh Goyal. Ramesh died Oct.15 in a car accident in Jaipur, India. Ramesh was born in Bewar, Rajasthan on March 21, 1948. He completed his master’s degree in botany at Rajasthan University in 1971 and finished an MBA in 1972 at Bajaj School of Management in Bombay, India. He migrated to the United States in 1976.

Ramesh was a successful businessman dabbling in real estate, restaurants and the hospitality businesses. He was active in community affairs, serving as president of the Federation of Indian Associations in 1999 and Metropolitan Asian Family Services from 2001 to 2004. He was honored with the following awards: the Hind Ratan Achievement Award for NRI (Non Resident Indian); the Community Service Award from the Federation of Indian Associations, the Community Service Award from Metropolitan Asian Family Services, and the Excellence Service Award from Dunkin Brands Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Nalini Goyal, and two sons, Tarun and Varun. Tarun manages his father’s business and Varun is pursuing his MBA at Kellogg.
