Class of 2005 — it’s so great to get news from all of you! Only a few more months until our five-year Reunion. Can you believe it’s been FIVE years? I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again and to seeing our future batch of Kelloggians. Don’t forget to register online for the reunion and join the Class of 2005 Reunion Facebook page.
Here’s the news from our class:
Laurie L. Levin happily announces that she married Sarah E. Goodstine in October. Laurie and Sarah had a civil ceremony in Yarmouth Port, Mass. and a religious ceremony and celebration in Philadelphia a few days later. Laurie and Sarah work as attorneys in New York City and live in Hoboken, N.J., with their cocker spaniel Ellie.
Steve Goldenberg writes that he and wife Sarna (Lee) Goldenberg welcomed their beautiful daughter Nora Bea on Oct. 20.
Dan Goodman and Alissa Goodman welcomed their first child, Sadie Rose Goodman, on July 16.
On Nov. 13, Jabari DeRon married Shaunda Partida in a small ceremony in his native Chicago. Several Kellogg classmates were in attendance: John and Joanna Hamilton, Carrie and Oliver Hsiang, Brandon Bethea, Peter DeFrancesco, Garrick Isert, Nate Shanok and Ed Kalletta. A good time was had by all, but an even better time was had by "That Guy" (those who were there know what that means...).
Charles Naamen writes: "Our son Lucas Bodhi Antoine Naaman was born Aug. 17 and is now a super-smiley 5-month-old who seems to have inherited the sleep-avoidance gene from his parents. The other, much less significant news, is that I was promoted to associate partner of the health and life sciences practice at Oliver Wyman (formerly Mercer Management Consulting) in July. Meranee is thriving as well. After taking a four-month maternity leave, she returned to The Riverside Company in her role as vice president in January."
Risa Sparks updates: "I married Jeff Feldman in June in a family-only ceremony in Cape Cod. In July, we held a weekend celebration in Napa with only friends and siblings. In attendance were Kellogg alumni Dan Reese, Laura Dewitt, Tracey Bohannon and Elaine Chen. I am still working for Chevron and in August, we relocated to Kazakhstan, where I am working as a finance manager for Chevron’s operations in the region. If you are ever in Kazakhstan or want to visit Central Asia, please let us know. We love having visitors and (not surprisingly) do not get many."
Mike Baird and wife Natalie had their fourth child and have moved to the Washington D.C. area.
Danit Lewin married Josh Schleman on Aug. 1 at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center in Milwaukee, Wis. Danit and Josh reside in Chicago.
From Julie (Young) Pedraza: "My husband, Jaime, and I are excited to announce the birth of our son, Liam James Pedraza, on Nov. 16. We are living in Midland, Texas, where Jaime is completing a medical residency and I work remotely as manager of global marketing strategy for The Hershey Company."
From Linda Bethea: "Brandon and I are proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby girl, Finley Anne Bethea. She was born at 8:50 a.m. Jan. 12, weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces. She is a wonderful baby and we are slowly adjusting to life as new parents. We can’t wait to introduce her to everyone at Reunion this spring!"
Adam, Paula and Max Kaufman welcomed the latest addition to their family. Aaron George Kaufman was born Nov. 20.
Karianne Paolo and Joe Gomez were married on Nov. 28 in sunny Cancun, Mexico. In attendance from Kellogg were Gary Dulaney, Rachel Goldstein, Jami (Totten) O’Toole and Ryan O’Toole ’02.
Jessica (Nam) Kim and Peter Kim welcomed second child Grant Joon Kim at 5:36 p.m. on Jan. 29 after three minutes of pushing. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces. They report that mom and baby are doing great as well as Kayla (3). Thanks for all the well wishes!
Also, big news from Jessica Kim and Christine Turcuato Gutierrez. Jess writes, "I started BabbaCo in November 2007 and Christine joined me full-time as vice president of operations in March 2009. BabbaCo (BabbaCo.com) makes innovative baby products that are ‘simple. functional. super cute.’ solutions for everyday parenting."
Victoria Tucker writes, "I am going on year two of living in Shanghai with my growing family. My husband and I had baby No. 2: Maya Elizabeth in September. I also have left McKinsey and the corporate life and have started my second career working with schools to develop leadership programs. We are enjoying expat living despite the fact that my 3-year-old has to translate for me! If anyone is passing through, give us a call."
Ben and Carly Herrig are excited to announce the birth of their son, Finnian Charles, in October. Finn has already doubled in weight. The toughest decision Ben and Carly have to make will be football or rugby. Ben is still working as a vice president in Jones Lang LaSalle’s capital markets group in Chicago.
Andrew Henry Meisel was born on Jan.19 to Rachel Reilly Meisel and husband Micah Meisel.
Pani (Maggiani) Sabella writes: "I got married to Gonzalo Sabella on March 21, 2009 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Lots of Kellogg friends were able to join us and celebrate with us."
