2004
— Full-Time
The West Coast has it this time around, with nearly all reports coming from Cali. One can only suppose that winter weather mired most of our Kellogg classmates in the Midwest, East Coast — heck, anywhere BUT Cali — in its deep freeze. Hope spring is thawing you all out.
Brian Zeiger has made the move from sunny (and foggy) San Francisco to Minneapolis for a new job as director of portfolio management for North American real estate at CarVal Investors. Having done so in October, we can only imagine that the new post was well worth the winter welcome….
Maintaining the Kellogg equilibrium out west, Hudson Smith and family moved from Dallas to Palo Alto in the San Francisco Bay area in August. Hudson writes, "Shortly after moving, Charlotte Louise Smith entered the world and instantly had a best friend in her big sister Peyton." Hudson is working in private equity for Huntsman Gay Global Capital.
Rob, Declan and Dana Zuber welcomed Rowan into their family on May 11. Shortly after returning to work from maternity leave, Dana started a new role in the distribution strategy group for Wells Fargo Retail Banking.
Hanna Benfield sends in: "My husband Bobby and I had our first child, Noah Blake Benfield, in October. We’re just loving life with our new little guy and enjoying maternity leave! I’d love to see any of our Kellogg classmates if they are out in Santa Monica, Calif., anytime."
Cristina Yoshida is living in Los Angeles and working for Disney Parks and Resorts. No doubt Cristina will be up for a few "World’s Best Mom" awards as soon as new son Luis Felipe can say, "Take me to Space Mountain!" (Perhaps just "Mickey" will do.)
Douglas Stein was promoted to president at HMS National Inc., a leading provider of home warranties. In his expanded role, Doug will focus on growing HMS’ client base and maximizing customer lifetime value through a range of leading marketing, sales and client management strategies.
Omar Hyder was married to Saara Behlim on May 27.
From down South, yours truly (Maren Lau) and Juan Pablo Rossi rang in the New Year from a hospital room in Buenos Aires. Nicolas Kaimana Rossi was born on Dec. 30, making for a true-end-of-year celebration and a fantastic way to start 2010 (sleepless nights aside!). We received our first Kellogg visitors from abroad (Hernan Grimoldi took the domestic front) in the form of the indomitable Scott Cohen and his lovely lady friend Trish, on their Chile-Argentina adventure. Between Hernan ("Grillo" as you may better recall) and Scott, we’re thrilled that Nico had quite the formative introduction to the Kellogg character in his first six weeks alone!
