2000 — Part-Time

Happy Spring (can you believe it’s been 10 years since we graduated?)!

Thanks once again for doing such a great job sending in updates and keeping our class in touch! Any updates regarding gatherings with other alumni, job changes, marriages, births, trips, etc. are always appreciated!

If you enjoy reading the updates and don’t receive a reminder about submitting Class Notes, perhaps your alumni e-mail forwarding address needs to be set up. To do this, go to alumni.kellogg.northwestern.edu. While you are there, be sure to sign up for the TMP Class of 2000 listserv.

Scott Pape and his wife Janine had their third child, a strapping 9 pounds, 12 ounce boy named Mark, on Jan. 24. He joins Maria (4) and John (7) in the Pape household. Also in June, after 15 years, Scott left U.S. Steel and returned home to Cleveland, Ohio, as president of Kenilworth Steel. Kenilworth is a steel plate distributor and a subsidiary of Stemcor International, a London-based trading company in the ferrous metals business. Scott writes: "We are happy to be back in Cleveland closer to grandparents and old friends, but we miss Chicago and our friends there. I also cannot say I recommend moving with a 6-month-old and two other small children, but we are getting settled. Most of our time is spent at the hockey rink (John), at dance and gymnastics (Maria) or changing diapers (Mark). Ten years after graduation, I can look back and say that the education we received, and the friends we made, have served us well over the years." It’s always great hearing from you, Scott –—Ni hao! Scott can be reached at scottsteel1@yahoo.com.

Robert Pu joined China Nuokang Biopharmaceutical in 2008 as their CFO, taking the company public on the NASDAQ in December. This was the first China based healthcare company to go public in the U.S. after the financial crisis. During a road show in Chicago, Robert made a stop back at Wieboldt Hall, followed by pizza at Gino’s East, a fond reminder of his TMP days. Robert can be reached at rtpu@yahoo.com.

Congratulations to Rich Riley, who started working for Amazon as a senior product manager in the global payment services group. Now we can all feel good when we’re making those last-minute holiday purchases online at Amazon. We’re helping a fellow TMP 2000 graduate! Rich can be reached at r_riley9300@hotmail.com.

Jami Tucker is continuing to work as a behavioral change manager at Chevron Corporation in San Ramon, Calif. She is also in the process of learning Mandarin, trying to find time to join Suzy Taherian ’95 in some Kellogg Alumni Club events in San Francisco, and growing her own business on the side (life coaching). As if that weren’t enough, she’s doing all of that while juggling the many activities of her three children (Kelsey (2), Gavin (3), and Cade (6)) with husband and fellow Northwestern alum Brett Chromy ’01. Jami recently won the "Tribute to Moms" contest and won an incredible photo shoot with a leading San Francisco photographer. Check out her blog at annietaoblog.com/2010/01/09/tribute-to-moms-contest-winner/. Feel free to contact Jami anytime at jami@TheEverydayLeader.com.

Keep in touch everyone!
